74 and going for 10k again

Well it looks like I am going towards 10k again, this years been all towards the 5k at Bournemouth. Now that event is over with a PB of 33.05 at 74 , I have set my sights on a 10k race next year. Training for it I have been working up 5,6,7 k over the past weeks. This morning I just ran for an hour and did 8k. I have been using the Nike Running club pod casts, cheesy at times but they have kept the old body going, funny but with the average pace of 7.30 I could of just kept going but i had completed my set task. So it look like I am on for 1hr 15 or less if the Running gods are with me and age and my ailments don't catch up with me.😁

Well done to you hamit, I am sure you will be able to run a 10K in around the 70/75 minutes, I wish you happy running. 😊 🏃🏾

Well done hamit, sounds like you have a plan there. I’m hoping to get back to 10k over the next year as well, at the moment I’d be glad to do 5k! And I’ll have to get a shift on if I want to get ahead of my aches, pains and ailments!

I have been using jj magic plan and keeping the pace managable by talking to myself😁

Wow, as another 65+ runner, I really am impressed by your running achievement! Not only are you covering good distance, but at a speed that much younger people would be proud of! I would be happy to bet you do get to 10k before long with a very tidy speed to boot!

I went out for a 5k run yesterday with a friend, but was nowhere near your pace at 53mins, mind you we do chat a lot and slow to swerve falling over her dog at times! (that's my excuse!)

I look forward to hearing more about your inspiring runs. Best wishes ☺️

I know a guy who regularly takes his dog for a run to wear it out, hasn't worked yet😁

Well done Hamit, keep at it, I set and achieved the 10 mile target for my 75th, regularly now do 10k. Achieved my best 5K PB at Parkrun three weeks ago 31.25🤗
