I thought you might have posted to make official your challenge to the man who has just made a new US record for the 10K -- of 27 minutes and 8 seconds .
This week I will be running every other day........early mornings are so lovely this time of year. Had a lovely 3k intervals session today ππΌββοΈ
one week ago exactly i completed Juju's 10 is the magic number with a 10 K run, did another 10K last Sunday and did the Speed podcast (c25k+) today - which i hadn't done for a long time!
so running wise I am happy - but I have put on weight = birthdays at work etc... I am terrible I cannot walk past a cake without eating some of it!!!
I find that the running makes me more hungry : i am sort of good mostly during the day and when i get home from work or after a run = I eat the wrong things . Any advice : what is the best thing to eat to avoid this .... :-))
Well.. don't buy the wrong things...then they are not there to tempt you
There are some great healthy eating regimes out there.. filling, tasty and really satisfying...hopefully coming around to the time for the great green stuff too... and loads of different salads etc...
Mr OF and I have a Mediterranean eating habit.. and we also use aspects of Micheal Mosley's Sugar free regime... ( 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet) Loads of great recipes and his wife has a book of recipes too..
I suggest watching the documentary "Forks Over Knives" and let me know if that affects you like it did me. Good for you for seeking out change! Way to go! You will do it!
Hi bsimonuk, it is easy to get in the habit of having cake as a treat (I know this tooπ)..I just try to remind myself that those extra calories will need running off before any of my proper regular food! Cutting out the snacks is the thing to do...only have a treat now and then.. after a while you don't bother so much. I don't buy biscuits now either...
I understand only too well. My diet swings from incredibly healthy vegan to donuts and other naughty stuff. My body seems to crave one or the other in rotation. At the moment itβs healthy eating, and I can tell you it makes running easier. I have had several aborted or slow or curtailed runs through the consumption of empty carbs. I think one trick is to eat before you do a supermarket shop, then you dont crave the wrong stuff, and it stays on the shelf. Itβs easier for me now I dont do dairy, as so much that caught my eye before had butter or eggs or whatever in. X
Still running alternate days but having a bit of a 'lite' week in terms of distance after my 'accidental' 10k at the weekend. Hoping for more sunshine! π
A 14kg cantilever parasol weight has fallen onto my toes tonight & the first thing I thought about was running!! Will I be ok for Thursday??? Come on toes...might be a slow run.... π
My teenage daughter was in a car accident and sustained a concussion--oh--23 years ago or so. I remember how devastated she was when the doctor told her "No running" (for a certain length of time....
Oh!!! Had a WONderful run in a new neighborhood this morning. Ran Stamina on a smoooooth sidewalk all the way. Since it was going up to 82 F. here, I ran early in the morning while my son was in PT for his running injury. A beautiful cool wind blew on me all the way out. Unfortunately, it blew my hair in my face all the way back, but the run out was really grand. What a wonderful run!
Done a 1.4k run, cut short because I forgot to strap my knee, and an 8k run, which was going to be over 10k until the knee I forgot to strap the other day made its presence felt after slogging up and downhill formore than an hour. Hoping to go out again tomorrow, but no idea how far I will run - I often dont plan these things.
Actually managed 3 runs this week! Whoohoo! Yay! A 30 minute (4.8k), a 4 mile run, and my 5k Revenge of the Sixth run today! It has been a busy week but still got 3 runs in. Whoop whoop.
