My first 8k!

I could get used to sunny running.

After two weeks of running on alternate days (in the hope of avoiding only managing 2 runs in a week when work gets busy) I planned a route this morning which would allow me to stop at any point and not be too far away from my starting point (and the car). I really wanted to improve on my personal best distance of 7k last weekend but wasn't sure I could do it and wanted to be careful not to overdo things if it didn't feel comfortable.

However after a lovely peaceful jaunt along the river and a circuit of university parks (full of blossom and spring flowers after all this sun) I'd completed 5k and knew I could do 8k.

A few blossom laden country lanes and cycle tracks led me back to the river and my 8k target! Have to confess I'm not sure I could have got much further (there was less running left in my legs than after 7k last week) so maybe I'll consolidate with another 8k next week before pushing on with the distance.

Hope you're all getting out to enjoy this lovely weather. Happy running.

Feeling so chuffed 😊!

It really does, doesn't it. If there's such a thing as "path envy", I think I might have got it!!

Great run, DJO!

Thanks - it's a lovely route made better by glorious weather here last weekend.

Well done on your 10k race!

Fantastic! Is that Oxford? Looks like the top path leading along to Rainbow Bridge. x
