There have been and there will be days when the outside weather is not very friendly but I will still go out, no matter what, and run because it will be my scheduled run day. Motivation or not, I will leave that as irrelevant and simply do it.

I always say, you either want to run, or you don't want to run, never really get the mojo thing tbh.

All the best!

It happens. Don't worry about it, put it to one side for a minute and wait for it to come back to your mind again. Sometimes I think we push at it too hard as if we are trying to win a race all the time and it just burns us out. Given time to reflect we remember all the positives and give ourselves a chance to miss it a bit.

If you have had a bug and feel a bit low, simply take a run holiday. Your next run will be better for the break. Go for a nice walk instead and maybe scope some new routes, do some running gear window shopping or just totally forget about it for a few days.

Oh bless you...it really does mess everything up doesnt it!!!i keep getting a reoccuring lurgy & its totally stopping me from having a lead legs free run 😣 hope you feel better soon 😊

You will get the urge back again. It is still very early days after your bug. I had 3 week sinusitis recently and was ready to eBay my running gear I was so down. But then I did a gentle run and turned the corner mentally.

You will get that caged animal feeling again and be busting to get out there. Just make sure it is an easy first run to remind yourself how enjoyable running can be.

Just think about why you started running and what you have to date achieved and gained, for me if it's a run day it's a run day, strap on me shoes and go

It will return, until then just go out anyway, even if it's a shorter run, and keep at it in the knowledge the un-enjoyment of it will pass, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow . . . . but soon . . . Or have a break but not too long or you'll get into the habit of not going.

I know where you're coming from. I've got Flu at the moment so I don't want to do anything! What with that and the poor weather in the past few months, I've not been putting in anywhere enough training for a 10K in 6 weeks time. I have a love/hate relationship with running and things have been getting slower since last summer. There are other ways to keep fit! Perhaps a bit of variety would help.

Maybe you just need a little more recovery time after your bug?? Your body is probably telling you something! 😄
