Garmin fit files

Could anyone tell me the location of the *.fit files associated with Garmin Express on Windows 10. I deleted a run accidentally after uploading to my online account. Through a bit of searching online it appears that your pc keeps a copy of them but despite searching on my laptop I cant find them ( I have made invisible files visible).

Using Garmin Forerunner 15 on Windows 10.

I think the fit files are now on the watch itself, rather than downloaded as used to happen, and you should be able to find it there if you plug your device in again. When you do so your garmin will show up on your computer and your run will be filed in Activities in date order

The fit files used to get filed in downloads but that doesn’t seem to happen now, not as far as I can tell

Excellent advice, yes the FIT files are still on the watch; but the file(s) will not automatically upload. You have to upload it manually, but easy to do - Copy file to My Documents then Import via drop file or browse, click import data and the record is back on your page after a few seconds.

Thank you

I'm lucky enough to have a FR235 and this uploads to Garmin Connect via bluetooth to my phone. So I've never had to use Garmin Express. I did some googling (like you) and it is not clear really if Express still saves a local copy onto your PC, or just uploads it directly to Garmin Connect.

Check the suggestion from MissWobble in case that sorts you out.

If you're still stuck, reply here or DM me... my work colleague is a Garmin hardware beta tester and I could see if we can get some help direct from one of the Garmin developers. Should be a simple thing for them to answer....
