Quick Garmin Question

Hello Garmin Users, Usually my run info on Garmin Connect shows the temperature and wind speed at the time of the run, like this, but I noticed that it wasn’t there today. Just checking whether this is a Garmin problem affecting everyone or whether I’ve unknowingly changed the settings.

UPDATE: It turned out that all of us in Southsea lost our weather info. I did a dummy run as we drove through Guildford on Tuesday - no surprise it was my fastest 1k - and it provided the weather info. So I think it was a problem with the source of the info not being able to provide it. Pleased to say it is now back again in Southsea, and I have deleted that fake run. Don’t want Mr Garmin to get over excited.

I checked my run and walk from earlier and I have the weather data Dexy. How odd yours didn’t show it. I don’t know whether it’s possible to deactivate the feature by mistake, but maybe you did? 🤷‍♀️

Afraid it is there on my run from this morning too Dexy5. Might it be a Garmin issue which is local to you? “Dodgy Satellite Over Southsea Shocker.”🤔

Have you checked location settings in the Garmin Connect app ? I had a message not do long ago after I had changed a few settings on my phone to say that temperature etc could not be accessed if the location permission on the app was off. Mine is now set to "when app in use"

Yes I’ve checked that thanks Week7 - I am on the when using setting . I’ve changed it to always on now and see if that kick starts it.

Never noticed that my garmin showed wind speed and temperature! So it's an ill wind that blows no good! 🤣Hope you get it sorted. I've found their support chat very helpful in the past.

you never know what you will learn on here Kirst13. I’ll give it a trial on a walk today and see if it returns.

Oh Yes, Good idea! But it’s not just me.

I have now found that UTS and Oldgirlruns are missing their’s too. Maybe there is a strange black hole above Southsea , or whatever source they are using for this info has lost us. 😱

My IT support at work told me to try powercycling the device. I apologised for my tech ignorance and asked how to do it. Turn off and on again!! I use that term now, because it sounds more techy🤣

Thank you Kirst13. I’m beginning to think that it’s a problem with the weather source or the tech. Having taken all the actions instructed in FAQs, including switching everything off, it’s still not showing on the app. It has happened to UpTheStanley and Oldgirlruns too so could be a regional thing. Strangely, the weather and temperature is showing in the website but not the app. Wind speed is not showing on either. I will email them if it doesn’t come back.
