Garmin Forerunner 920XT - advice please

Sports Pursuit (an amazing website that I'm totally addicted to) have one of these on offer for £274.99. Good price. I think the model has recently been upgraded and this is the older version but that doesn't bother me. I currently use a little non-GPS Garmin which is fine but is quite basic. I've wanted to upgrade to a GPS model for a while and really like Garmin. My question is twofold. Firstly, does anyone use one of these and, if so, how do you find it? Secondly, are there any ladies out there that use it? It looks a bit bulky but I'm wondering what it's like when it's actually on. I also swim and cycle which is why this model is appealing to me.

Sorry don't know anything about this model. I have a 220 and love it, but take a look at this review on the 920XT model. This guy is the "guru of technology reviews".

I know the Garmin FR10 comes highly recommended on here, which comes cheaper and does the job, my wife has one and likes it a lot, but think that model is no longer available new, so now it's fr15 or25...

I have the Forerunner 15. I bought it second hand on eBay. It was in great condition. It is perfect for me, does everything I need it to do. Gives you your Pace, Avg Pace, Distance, Time, Calories burnt etc. I just have Avg Pace and distance set up on mine, that's all I need to look at and a quick glance as you run is all you need as info is very clearly displayed. I have found it to be excellent and accurate. Uploads easy onto Garmin connect and mine also connects to Strava on my phone.

There are 2 models of the Forerunner 15, a larger men's size and also a slightly neater ladies size. Same also for the Forerunner 25.

I didn't want to break the bank and I'm still a newbie so don't need loads of tech, I'm never going to do a sub 3 hour marathon. This watch should last me a few years.

£70 will buy you a brand new one on eBay, £40-£50 for a good second hand model.

I had the 920XT for 2.5 years and found it to be absolutely excellent. I only upgraded because I fell in love with the mapping feature on a Fenix 5x, but apart from that I would happily have continued to run with the 920XT for another couple of years.

£275 is IMHO a great price for it.

Can I ask how big it is? I've got sparrow wrists and any Garmin-type watch I've tried on has been wider than my wrist.

I have the Forerunner 225 which has a HR monitor etc... it's done me proud and was about 100 quid. It's also bulky but I like the Bear Grylls look!!! I think you cant go wrong with Garmin but that is an awful lot of money....

I'm on my second Garmin so far - I have an entry level one - and have never named either. When I invest in my next one I'll make sure I do!
