I've just done my first Parkrun with my new Garmin. I find that despite being set to metric, and doing everything else in metric, including beeping at me every 500m as requested, it gives me mile split times (but showing the distance as 1.61k). And although I can see pace, cadence and heart rate against either time or distance, I can't find time against distance. So I can't (easily) find kilometre split times, which is how I've been recording performance over the previous 50 runs. I'm sure I must be missing something obvious - can anyone help me out?
Second question - is there any way of pulling data from Garmin Connect into the Strava app? I tried to run with both, but Strava had a hissy fit and stopped after a minute or so - I've deleted that activity but it hasn't picked up the Garmin data, whereas Dexy5, who didn't start Strava, can see her Garmin data on both, thanks to the magic of Bluetooth (which I have now got on).
Thanks in advance …….

Yes, you just go to the Garmin app on your phone and then you can link it to Strava, it’s dead easy. If you aren’t sure there will be a YouTube vid out there that will tell you!!!
Thanks, I'll try that next. Running's so easy, compared to the tech
I had trouble with my Fenix 5s and km. It kept registering the runs in miles on the app though I'd selected km. I used Garmin Express on the computer and altered the preferences on there. that seemed to sort it out.
The Strava problem's solved , thank you everybody, by manually exporting the data from Garmin and importing to Strava following JoJo's clues on the Strava Support site.
Still looking for the hidden setting that will change my lap distance from 1.61k, i.e. 1mile, to 1k …..
I have now discovered (thanks Pianoteacher) that on the watch (but not on phone or computer), a click on "Auto Lap" tells you whether it thinks a lap is a mile or a kilometre - but doesn't offer any way of changing it
But if you switch Auto Lap off, then on again, it may change to whatever units you have got set up elsewhere - or possibly you may have to switch units to miles then back to ks while Auto Lap is off - we pressed so many buttons in random order I can't be sure!
Anyway, Auto Lap is now set to ks . But the record for this morning's run stubbornly still shows mile laps - which I sort of understand, as passing each mile, rather than each k, will have been the "recorded event" as far as the watch was concerned.
I'm still a bit surprised that the system doesn't offer a distance v time graph, though. It's got all the data it needs to do it …..
Thanks Flick, yes, I've got Garmin Express and Connect (and Strava) on the computer - I use my phone as little as possible (fading eyes and fat thumbs )
