For those who use a Garmin Forerunner 45, mine had become really slow finding the GPS signal. Today it took 25 minutes. I have discovered that this watch requires updates of the salellite data for GPS as explained in this video. I have now updated my watch according to this video and the reason that it was so slow was that the CPE was expired as the video explains. Hopefully it now works correctly. Maybe this video will be useful to others.

Garmin Forerunner 45 really slow on finding GPS
I have a garmin forerunner 45, and get the gps signal in about 15 seconds where i live fortunately, with no issues, but thanks for the heads up, i will keep this info for if i have this issue
I find that if I haven’t run for a while my Garmin can initially struggle to ‘lock on’ to its gps. This doesn’t seem to happen when I am out there regularly.🤷♀️
ooh thank you, my is the 45s, so I will definately have a look.
Excellent information.
No issues with my 45 touch wood but thanks for sharing. I’m sure it will come in useful down the line!
Thanks Comte . There was another post not so long ago suggesting that using GPS + Galileo, rather than GPS + Glonass or just GPS, can also help: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...
I hadn't updated my watch for ages, so doing that and ensuring I was using GPS + Galileo worked for me.
