I've got a few more weeks until Race Day, and the training runs have been going OK - I managed 7.5K on the treadmill last weekend, helped by putting on a video of someone running round a park in Hawaii to stave off boredom, and then last week's runs felt hard until I realised I was setting off far too fast and was tiring myself out - even then, the various intervals were done to time. Didn't get out for my long run last night as it was hammering down, but having today off I thought I'd get our this morning, going along the canal. I'd had in my head that I'd look to do 8K rather than the planned 7.5K, so turned round after 4 - a couple of walk breaks (one enforced as the drawbridge was open) and I still felt there was a bit left, so I extended a bit, then a bit further, then went up and down the street past the house until.... "10 kilometers in 1:12:46" announced Endomondo, and I slowed to a walk and went back to my door.....
About to celebrate with a shower and something nice for lunch, and actually book the Shakespeare 10K!
