So here I am ... 10K person!!
That's a fab achievement, well done. I am doing my first 10k event very soon and have another in July and possibly one on November. Sounds like you have the running bug!
You are right I have the bug!!ππ I congratulated myself by buying a great pair of running shoes from specialist shop. They have an amazing treadmill and they film you on it!!! I finally settled on the first pair I tried one. Run for it were one of the sponsors for the race and in my goody bag was a 15% off voucher!! ... wonderful!
Lovely new shoes, I am envious! Let's hope they give you a spring in your step!
Wow that's amazing - I'm also 62 but still struggle with increasing distance to 10K - well done you
ππ
You can do it !! I didn't go from 5-10 overnight. I started doing the 'Park run' (Saturday morning worldwide run ... must be one near you) .... they are designed to be 5km.
At the same time going out Monday and Wednesday with Jog Scotland. 1hour jog /walk about 5km.
When I signed up for my 10km started 3 more times a week myself--- 6 total. 1 day off.
Then tried fast walk / jog around the course.
Knowing I could finish it walking gave me confidence. That was it. I still can't jog 10km but I am working on it.... and I still hate hills!!
Yesterday I did 8.1. Today I did 5.65 Tomorrow its Park run 5 km. ππ
Well done, great achievement.
True! I am nearly 60 and planning to do a marathon courtesy of C25k ππββοΈ
