Woohoo!! π€Έπ»ββοΈπ₯³ π π I ran my new route today!!!
You can probably tell from the title and my emojis doing cartwheels that Iβm over the π moon with my new route πΊ!
ππ»ββοΈRan the 6k of week 2 of JuJuβs Magic Plan, as I wanted to try out what this new route felt like. It does take 2k of centre-town warm-up and running, passing our library and main schools (something I wouldnβt have dared to do half a year ago) but the reward is a beautiful, level tree-lined former rail line, closed to public trains back in 1930 (last goods train 1970), with some streams, lakes and comfy pubs thrown in for good measure.

π€ As the dedicated site about The Salt Line says:
βOne hundred and fifty years ago this area was a hive of bustling industry, based on salt.... The Salt Line, opened in 1852 to carry coal and limestone to the salt works. A passenger service also ran daily ... to take people to the market at Sandbach. In later years weekend excursions to Trentham Gardens near Stoke were popular.β

βοΈ Sounds so lovely, but having run this gorgeous route this morning Iβm actually glad this line was closed! My 6k this morning, on a relaxed annual leave day, ended up being the first of my out-and-back explorations of this new lovely route, which by the time I get to the end of the Magic Plan will have become a 10k circle.
π§ And I look so forward to exploring this route a bit further in my next runs! But patience, as the next runs are 5k and 3k βΉοΈ. Canβt wait until my 7k next week!π€£.
𦡠Even better, all limbs, knees, back and calves held up well, even whilst having to run on pavement at the beginning and end.
Happy running everyone!
