Loving my new route!

Woohoo!! πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ₯³ πŸŽ‰ πŸ™Œ I ran my new route today!!!

You can probably tell from the title and my emojis doing cartwheels that I’m over the 🌝 moon with my new route πŸ—Ί!

πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈRan the 6k of week 2 of JuJu’s Magic Plan, as I wanted to try out what this new route felt like. It does take 2k of centre-town warm-up and running, passing our library and main schools (something I wouldn’t have dared to do half a year ago) but the reward is a beautiful, level tree-lined former rail line, closed to public trains back in 1930 (last goods train 1970), with some streams, lakes and comfy pubs thrown in for good measure.

πŸ‘πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸŒ³πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ›΅οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‚πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸŒΏπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘

πŸ›€ As the dedicated site about The Salt Line says:

β€œOne hundred and fifty years ago this area was a hive of bustling industry, based on salt.... The Salt Line, opened in 1852 to carry coal and limestone to the salt works. A passenger service also ran daily ... to take people to the market at Sandbach. In later years weekend excursions to Trentham Gardens near Stoke were popular.”

⭕️ Sounds so lovely, but having run this gorgeous route this morning I’m actually glad this line was closed! My 6k this morning, on a relaxed annual leave day, ended up being the first of my out-and-back explorations of this new lovely route, which by the time I get to the end of the Magic Plan will have become a 10k circle.

🧭 And I look so forward to exploring this route a bit further in my next runs! But patience, as the next runs are 5k and 3k ☹️. Can’t wait until my 7k next week!🀣.

🦡 Even better, all limbs, knees, back and calves held up well, even whilst having to run on pavement at the beginning and end.

Happy running everyone!

That’s great news CBDB and what a lovely route to run!😍 Shame about the first 2K in the town, but it’s worth it for the rest of the runπŸ‘ There’s so much out there that we wouldn’t know about unless we were running about in it!Good luck with the rest of Ju-Ju’s plan. I followed it a couple of years ago and it worked for me!😊

Thanks! Will do. Hope you’re enjoying your HM journey as much as I am my B210k! It’s unbelievable to me, still!

Great. I love seeking out new runs - but it can take time to find the perfect route for the perfect distance.

Indeed! I had to practice running for 9 months before even considering this route (through the town center) a feasibility! Thanks! ☺️

Looks amazing. Do stick to Jujus plan. I skipped a bit and went to 10k too quickly. Nearly wiped me out. Routes look lovely.

Thank you πŸ™. Yes, am taking it slow. It took me an extra mid-sized run and an extra recovery day to finish week 1. But thanks for the warning, I know now how easy it is to think one should be able to run so much longer!

Great running plan for you CBDB, the Salt Line is really good for running on and making some good running times along it. Enjoy 😊

Yes, and I spotted the blue church you mentioned. I haven’t reached that yet, but in 2 more weeks .... I will! Thank you!

It does, doesn’t it. Am actually really chuffed finding this route. πŸ™πŸ™

That looks a beautiful place to run, love the red nosed tree, perfect place to extend the route for your 10k, very glad to hear all your strength work and exercises are giving back with a pain free run, great work πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ€—

Yeah, it really felt like I should be able to get to 10k, as today’s 6k was so nice to run! And I know I must still have energy reserves, when I start wiggling my head and dance-running to the music when my favourite song comes on! πŸŽΆπŸŽ§πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

such a great feeling that, I sometimes feel I’m in a movie, running wild over the hills with the soundtrack playing in my ears πŸ€—

It’s nice to find a good new route and that one sounds ideal, it’s also good to hear your confidence has grown to a point where you can run in the town centre, which is something you wouldn’t have done previously, that shows your confidence in yourself as a runner, which is great πŸ‘

Thank you, yup! Getting there. It was also the run where the thought of 10k didn’t make me go into panic. It’s only 4k more!
