Two running events for me shortly, the Porchester 10k on Sun 21 May & Hayling Billy 5 mile on Weds 14 June. This should set me up for my first half in Sept the Meon Valley Express & of course the GSR in Oct. This should keep me out of mischief for a while! Although I might be able to sneak another one in, you just never know! π
Planning my events for this year!: Two running... - Bridge to 10K
Planning my events for this year!
That all sounds very exciting Frank and is good news for the 'trophy room', I think! Great to see you taking on your first half too - I am sure you will be fab! I did the Bath Half last month and it was a very special dayπ and I plan to do another one in November, all being well. GSR in October too - snap!π
Have also signed up to the GSR. Am gradually increasing distance and managed 7.5k without stopping on my last run. Seems a long stretch to 10 miles!
You will certainly enjoy the run it's fantastic, this is my third year and again looking forward to it. You have plenty of time to train for it, use the free GSR training plan on their website, I find it very useful. If you have to have a couple of walk breaks that doesn't matter, many people do. The crowd encourages you around and the time will pass quicker than you think. Well done for signing up, you won't regret it. π
I am not worried how long it takes but the crowd might have dispersed by the time I am finishing!
Plus as a local I am very familiar with most of the route (and the prevailing south westerly)
Just in case you have room for another Frank!!π
Sounds like great plans for the yearπ
I love to see people planning their year by the runs they are booked in for A great plan to spur you on to your first half - how exciting! And nice to met up with others at the GSR as well
Great calendar you have there. I got up Yesterday to enter my first event for ages. At 9.30 they released the first London Landmarks HM. (March 2018) I got caught up on a phone call and by the time 10.00am came all the run for yourself places had all sold out π«. The charities are asking for Β£250-300 and I wanted my next charity run to be for the kidney foundation and they are not participating, still really tempted though.
Thanks RFC, I've been contemplating that one as well but I heard they sold out in the first hour. I'm sure you'll be back running an event soon, happy running. π
Sounds a good plan Frank - should keep you out of trouble.
Sounds like a great plan, and you'll certainly not get bored with all that running
