If you're doing, have done, or are just about to do the B210K and you do Park runs, how did you or are you planning to fit it all in AND keep your increase to only 10% per week?
Thanks!

B210K has 3 runs per week - you could add another day for parkrun and simply run an "easy" non-stop 5K on that day if you feel up to that. Or you could replace one of the B210K days each week with a non-stop 5K run at parkrun.
I think parkrun is really important for those who do it - it adds an enjoyable social dimension to our running. The B210K plan is not written in stone and running only 2 days per week of it's plan and a parkrun will be just as good for you as following it to the letter. Most of us followed different pathways to 10K - there is no "one way" !
Yes, I agree with Bazza1234 . I'm plodding towards 10k but doing my own thing and enjoying it. I really loved the structure of the NHSC25K programme with Laura and initially I felt completely lost without it. I know I'll get to 10k, and I love doing park run as it's timed and I can see my progress each week.
I make sure I don't run on consecutive days and certainly for the first few months I never went beyond 5k. I'm experimenting with longer runs now, but soon 5k will be my shorter runs!
Good luck and enjoy your journey!
How many runs do you do per week? I bridged to 10k by increasing one of my three 5k runs (turning it in to my 'long' run). Remember that the 10% rule means 10% of your total weekly mileage. So if you were running 3x 5k then you could add on 1.5k to one of these runs if you wanted. The reality is that we often add on less and might not increase total mileage every single week. Hopefully your Parkrun will be fine. Good luck☺
I am following a Myasics plan to 10k and simply doing what Bazza suggests, just fit it around your plan. You need to cover the total distance per week, you can flex if necessary. You can run a 5k parkrun and then continue running if you need to. I think you can make it work😀
Another vote here for the Asics plans. You can elect to run 2,3 or 4 times a week. Just elect to do 2 runs a week and use the third run to do Parkrun. The b210k programmes can be quite tough and ramp up the milage very quickly, so be careful.
Thanks all. Very helpful advice. 😃
I cross train a lot so I did Myasic plan but only set it for 2 days so I could do my other training. The majority of time I have only ever run 2 days a week even when training for my HM, as usually this time of year I am training for a swim event. So i suspect possible use a training plan twice a week and keep parkrun separate and still reach your 10km goal.
I think that's it.
I think I've worked out my route to 10K
2 b210k
1 short HIT (I love speed!)
1 parkrun.
Last week my total running distance was 18.5k, I'm at 13k for this week, so a 5k parkrun & a 2k (ish!) HIT will give me my 10% increase for this week.
Best wishes on your swim event. 👍🏊♀️
(I wish I could swim, it's such a good all round exercise & I love it, but a perforated ear drum makes it a nightmare & I had to give it up a few years ago - endless infections just meant it wasn't worth it.)
I still swim but I'm not doing my event this year. My other half had a tumour removed from his ear when he was little which left a big gap that used to get infected when he swam, he is a big swimmer when he is well. He got a plastic earplug moulded from his ear cavity. It's the Ones they use to make a good seal for hearing aids. They inject liquid plastic into the ear and let it set and then make a personal Mould. He uses it for baths, showers and swimming and it keeps his ear completely dry. The only advice if you get one is get a coloured one as if you lose the clear one in a pool you will never find it😀.
