Thanks to the previous post and advice from AnneDroid and others on this forum, I have finally started my first training plan other than C25k! A little while ago, post graduation, I registered for a 10k race happening early in March 2017, to celebrate my 60th birthday (well doesn't every 59 year old do that teehee)!
I am currently building distance slowly post IC so didn't think I could do such a plan yet. But, on Anne's guidance, having put into the Asics planning tool that I can run 20-30 mins rather than saying I can run 5-6 k, the plan is actually perfect. It starts very steady and builds slowly, running three times a week.
So not only can I start my 10k training, the plan holds me back a couple of weeks on several steady slow 2-3k runs, so perfect for my post niggly knee come back!
I am so exited. Many of you may have noticed I LOVE a plan! Now I have one yeaaaaaahhhhhh. ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ

Me too. I started off well last week but have missed the first run of week two due to a holiday. But I have done two x 10km approx beach walks in Northumberland , the first fairly hard going as the sand was very soft.
At the end, my left knee was a bit uncomfortable although it was ok walking today. I am trying to work out what to do when I get home. I may just do another gentle 3K run to make sure my knee is ok.
Do I just reschedule the runs or did someone post that Asics will suggest an amended plan for me?
Wahay! A plan! I am nearly at the end of myasics one. My 10 k race is this Sunday.
The plans are tough! Even the "easy" ones. I tried an intermediate myasics plan and it nearly killed me. I now choose the "easy" ones. They are anything but though!
Take care. Don't overdo it. The plan is interactive, so myasics will feed back to you on how you are doing and if you need tweaks
