Second 10k treadmill run.

I have wimped out recently and decided not to run outside as it's bbbrrrrr! So respect to you all for braving the wind, rain and freezing temperatures.

So back to my faithful treadmill, it has really paid for itself in the last few months. Running is a bit easier not having to dodge cars or slippy leaves and puddles, and no howling wind and rain!

I was going to run for 30 minutes today, anything else would be a bonus. I haven't really been running much lately so thought I would keep up the 5k runs to stay fit.

I covered up the clock and ran for just over 30 minutes, sneaked a peek and then kept on running, no gremlins at the moment, pleasantly surprising. It got a bit harder around 45 minutes but by then I thought I'd try for the 10k distance again.

I wanted to try to prove to myself that the previous run a few days ago hadn't been a one-off. I'd only run 7.5k once previously a couple of months ago.

Managed to run 7.36 miles, about 11.84km so happy with myself. No blisters this time and not exhausted. Burned off about 1034 calories so might treat myself to a pizza and put it all back on again! :-)

Good run. I've been using the treadmill of late running 5km for the same reasons and need to up my distance again to 10k as its been a couple of months now since my 10k graduation.

Well done you. :)

I struggle with the treadmill. I don't own one but sometimes go to the gym. I just find that Trevor the Treadmill-Gremlin is bigger and trickier than the usual outdoors Gary... "You could stop now Anne. You could stop now Anne. You could stop now Anne. You could stop now Anne". When I'm out running I reply, "Well I've started on this big loop. If I stop running I'll still have to walk so I might as well run and get home quicker". But I haven't yet thought of such a good retort to Trevor the Treadmill-Gremlin!

Yes it is tempting to just hop off when on the treadmill but I plug my phones in and put on some tunes and do my session. I do find it easier outside in running intervals and learning to pace myself properly can only be done outside too for me anyway

I was out yesterday on my training run. It was breezy and 8 degrees. I had to take off my jacket as I was boiling! Once you get out there and running you soon warm up. I always wear something over my ears and sometimes a cap if its raining/snowing.

I used to be the world's biggest wimp but you soon get acclimatised. Honest! I now turn the heating down at home and seem to be much warmer in myself than I ever was before I started running. Saving a fortune on the heating bills!

Was only 3deg and frosty at Parkrun on Saturday, but I took off my jacket and ran in a cap, long running bottoms, long sleeve thermal compression top, and short sleeve t shirt, was fine if a tad cold on hands so I pulled the sleeves over which took the cold off, then after a mile or so had warmed up and was toasty!😁

Well done you! There's a lot good to be said for treadmills when the weather is the way it has been lately.
