Just wanted to share my happiness at running my first 13k this morning! That converts to 8 miles in old money, so I am moving towards my target of 16k/10miles for the Great South Run in October. I am smiling broadly as I typeπ! Happy running everyone!
The longest run...!π: Just wanted to share my... - Bridge to 10K
The longest run...!π
Well done! That is great. All looking good for October. Very rightly smiling broadly it is a massive achievement
Happy running π
Flying Sandra ! You are Supersonic !
Yay , Well done to you , that is a brilliant time/pace too , Yep, I would be like a dog with two wotsits with that
You've got the GSR in the bag, no problem ! xxx
Thanks Poppy, things do seem to have settled down a bit for me at the moment (touch wood!) and the return to cooler weather has definately helped, I think. Hope your HM training is going well, too?πx
Yes this cooler weather with the lovely breeze is very welcome isn't it ? Although I have read that the hot temperatures will be back for next week . I shouldn't complain, but we are runners and we like to have a good moan about the weather don't we ?
Yes the training is going well , ta. A couple of 7ks this week to do , then it starts cranking up a bit next week xxx
Well done you! And a pretty decent time!
Well done Sandra! If I can do half of that distance tomorrow, I'll be very happy
That's a great pace Sandra! Well done on that 13k,my 100%faith in your abilities was right!!!ππ
Thanks Ali, I think I actually might believe in myself a little bit too! π Hope you're good?
Not so bad thanks Sandra! Went to a "boogie bounce" training session last night with my pal who s over on hols, ouch the stomach crunching it hurt! But legs not too bad!sweated buckets! See how I feel for running tonight!I've got to over 200k now on my "running down dementia "challenge π
Well done Sandra. You must have been out very early ! That is an amazing achievement. You are well on track for your run. I cant imagine running that distance yet. Happy running x
Whoop whoop! That's brilliant Sandra and a great pace too. I bet you're still smiling π
Hi Sandra, blimey that's fast! I'm aiming for my first 10 miler in October, doing a 'my asics' plan, which I'm quite happy with so far. Only up to 4.5 - 5 miles at the mo, I sit at this now for the next couple of weeks with one 6.5 miler - my only concern is we'll be on holiday and even early in the morning the temp is going to be 20+ π©, oh well slow and steady, and even slower.....π
You're going to smash it if you're at that distance and pace already - go you!
Mx
Running in the heat is so tough Madge isn't it? I did look at a couple of training plans (well, three actually!) and then decided to sort of use that knowledge but go my own way too! I'm keen to run the distance once before the day, just to reassure myself that I can do it! Which 10 miler are you doing? Good luck with your trainingπ
Thanks, I'm doing Wimpole estate 10 miler, it's one of the Hoohaah series (all at National Trust properties) there's a half marathon on the same day, there's also a 3hr cut off time, so I thought I could manage the 10 miler as my next step up.
Thing is my training is mostly flat, there's at least a couple of big hills and very multi- terrain on the run itself so I thought 3 hours is ok! π
I have enjoyed the Hoohaah 10k series, (3 runs at different NT properties) it's very laid back, very friendly and very inclusive.
Good luck with yours!
Mx
Looking good Sandra, you must feel really chuffed, well done you! π
Well done!
Just picked the post up.. wow.. go you.. speedy and enduring!!! Brilliant run x
