K2-Mk7

Help, bit of a shock this morning - I’m running out of my usual K2 -Mk7 capsules - I normally use the Troo brand but can’t find the one I want.

I’m wondering if those of you who are taking K2-Mk 7 can recommend anything.

I’m looking for capsules rather than tablets and I don’t want a D3/K2 combination.

Thanks

I came across these the other day while looking for D3/K2. I am thinking of dropping the dosage of my D3 as my blood tests confirm that vit D and calcium are adequate. But one of my kidney test readings was slightly high. I know too much D3 can cause kidney issues. It's a minefield working out whether and what doseage for supplements! amazon.co.uk/Pharma-Nord-K-...

I'm not sure if you knew that the ROS has a fact sheet that explains the minerals and vitamins that are needed for bones. Here is a link to this theros.org.uk/media/v2pdyew.... Also on the NHS website under vitamins and minerals, it gives daily allowances.

Oh thank you for that - I love the ROS calcium and Vitamin D information sheets but I’d completely forgotten about that sheet. Will go and have a look.

Yes, I’ve printed it out - it’s about nine pages long.

I was using the Troo product too🙁. I have changed to Health4All 200mcg (180/pack) but it is still a tablet not a capsule. I have looked on Amazon, search “vitamin k2 capsules”. There are a few capsule-types on there, mostly 100mcg with a couple of higher ones - 600 & 700mcg. They do seem to be mainly 90/pack. If you don’t want to use A maybe find something you want to try and see if you can order direct or from elsewhere.

I recently received my Troo order of K2-Mk7. As you say they are out of stock at the moment. I was lucky! I had not finished the other lot before I reordered. Glad I did now!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I emailed Troo this afternoon and they said

“Unfortunately we have run out of stock and are waiting on raw materials to get some more made. Recent disruptions in supply chain has meant we will not be getting the materials until next week (they were due 3 weeks ago) and that means that we probably won't have fresh stock made for another couple of weeks.”

So fingers crossed they get their raw ingredients soon.

I use Nutrizing capsules. They are 600 mcg and therefore take one on alternate days.

I used to take the nutrizing capsules but wondered if I was having too much K2-Mk7 even if taking one every other day so changed to the Troo brand.

I buy mine from Holland and Barrett. They are Solgar brand, but quite expensive at £26 per 50 capsules 100 mcg. I only take one per day, as I am on heart meds as well.

Ouch! That is expensive. I don’t mean to be rude and I know many people won’t or can’t use online shopping and if that is you I apologise but if you can shop online A and others have those capsules much cheaper. I’ve had a quick look around and it seems, I may be wrong, that H&B may be the only actual shop selling purely (not mixed with D3 or anything else) k2 capsules.

I don't want them mixed with anything else, as I already have calcium and D3 on my GP prescription, that's why I use the H & B ones. Problem being that I have to take the calcium and D3 twice a day, so it is a bit tricky with the timing between. I will have to look into it.

I was probably not very clear. On line you can get many different purely k2 supplements, including the Solgar one that you buy, but when I looked at actual shops H&B appear to be the only ones selling purely k2 supplements. For instance Superdrug have a liquid form of k2 in a hempseed oil and Boots do a k2 spray combined with vit d - which I know you do not want. I’m not a great fan of online shopping, I prefer to go shopping, but for the times it saves a good amount of money I use it.

Thank you for your explanation. I don't really like online shopping, call me old fashioned, but I am scared that some hacker will get hold of my card details. H & B also have a spray form of K2 in their shelves. I quite like the K2 on It's own though, as I am on a lot of medication, too numerous to mention, and a lot of it interacts with other drugs and supplements.

I use Nature's Best. They're 90mcg. I usually take 2 daily. I've avoided D3/K2 combinations after seeing Margaret Martin's video advising that they're taken several hours apart.I take my D3 in the morning and K2 in the evening.

I have taken these two supplements apart and together. I read conflicting advice. At the moment I am taking them together as two separate capsules.

I bought a K2 supplements from my endocrinologist. It contains MK7, MK4 and D3. After purchasing it, I found a multiple posts and articles from credible sources saying that K2 and D3 should be taken separately. I did a little research and landed on the MenaQ7 website and then looked for a K2 supplement that contained MenaQ7. I found Puritans Pride K2 MenaQ7 softgel supplement and so currently I alternate between the 2 supplements (the one my endocrinologist sold me and the Puritans Pride). My goal is to do a little more research to figure out what I will take long term.

In the next couple of weeks, I plan to read ReBuild Your Bones caltonnutrition.com/ Mira Calton was diagnosed with osteoporosis in her 30s and she worked with Jayson Calton, who is now her husband, to come up with a diet etc. to reverse her bone loss. After I read it, I might be switching up my supplements again. :-)

Hi. I’ve started using Nutrizing capsules. I take them lunch time with vit D3. (Don’t eat mornings). If I don’t take them together would probably forget! That’s all I take - all too confusing for me - apart from Teriparatide.

I take vit k2 mk-7 tablets which I buy from Oxford Vitality via EBay. Never had a problem obtaining them and delivery is always very prompt.
