How’s your week been Chloe?

Apart from my friends birthday where I met up with her for a quick bite to eat, I’ve kept to myself. Not sure if it’s helped really. Kept up with my usual aqua & walking the dog but haven’t felt like engaging with anyone. I did come across one of my dog walking neighbours, who talked non stop about the big family Christmas that him & his wife are having. On & on he went, then turned to me & said what about you? Oh we’re having a quiet one just us two. Why do I have to sound so apologetic as if I’m spoiling peoples fun. It’s our choice but it seems to upset people. I’ve got a couple of Christmas doos coming up & im dreading them. The topic of conversation will be “So what are you doing for Christmas?” 😡

HI Caza

I'm glad you popped to your friends for lunch, it helps, and your walking and aqua too, well you know that anyway.

It's just 'people Caza' it seems to be an automatic phrase 'What are you doing for Christmas' with no thought for the person you're speaking with, I hate it myself.

I can't mix with anyone, not even my family and grandchildren this year, because I'm vulnerable to 'infections' and there's a lot about, so not a lot fun here either.

I know you're dreading the 'do's' but it may pick you up a little, dread is horrible !

Thinking of you <3

Thanks Chloe, I’m sorry to hear that your health is dictating what you can do at Christmas. Your right, so many nasty bugs around

Last year was upsetting but this year I’m fine about it. So why do I feel the need to apologise that we’ve decided to be home alone? Crazy. We’ve had some really heartfelt invitations, so we’re not being forced to eat drink read watch crap tv in our pjs home alone ( ok I think I might get dressed to walk the dog) it’s our choice so why does it seem to upset others. 🤷‍♀️

Point is you don't have to explain anything to anyone if you don't want to!

Yes I know, I get your point. The thing is if you evade the question they get even more curious. 🤨

Morning Caza

Totally get what you mean, I think people just expect others to be ‘doing something’ when in fact many just want a quiet time for whatever reason x

Try not to let it get to you, it’s your choice and that’s absolutely fine 😘
