Have you Chloe? What a wonderful support a pet is. I lost my dog 6 months after my sister died. I still grieve him. I loved that boy so much my heart still aches. I don't think I could go through that again :(

Yes I’ve had two dogs since, ,not at the same time, I don’t think that they bring me comfort in the way that you mean. But they certainly have for my husband & sons. We’ve always had dogs. I think for me I hold back a bit, just in case….. we’ve got a puppy now & he’s certainly brought life laughter & hell of a lot of mess into the house 😱

Yes, I can understand what you mean about 'holding back' Caza

A puppy, wow, you're brave! but it's so good to be able to train them yourself though, albeit very hard, stinky work :-)

Is it appropriate for me to ask about what you mean when you say " holding back"? For me it's because I can't handle another loss.

A puppy :) :)

Yes that’s exactly what I mean. I’ve lost so much over the years, through death & then my grandchild who’s mother has taken them back to her home country. I’ve put a wall up now, having said that the pup has brought a lot fun.

Thank you. Yes the wall describes it. How can you not smile at a puppy :) Enjoy

no not personally had our dog since 2008 she`ll be 14 this month but death always leaves a huge void and although a pet doesn`t fill that void it goes a long way in helping us.
