I love the idea of us giving suggestions for an easy to prepare meal and then choosing one that we all cook once a month, so that we share a meal together. A little togetherness goes a long way! what do you think?

I suppose allowing for different ways of cooking and diets... you could start with pasta or maybe a choice between chicken or quorn...

That's an idea, anyone have a particular pasta dish they really enjoy?

You've got me started now , i just need two or 3 vegetables to maintain my quota. Maybe tomatoes and sweetcorn. I have to admit that i have not had quorn in a very long time and never made anything with it myself. It would also be the first time in a long while that i have experimented with food. Not to mention the great sage and onion debacle.

So here's the deal for me. Sunday is an important day of remembrance, so by way of celebration i'm going to be hunting pasta, chicken, tomatoes and sweetcorn. They'll be plenty of juice to make it go down easy. My first time with Pasta from scratch but not too much experimentation. What's everyone else got in mind?

And now welcome to our Cooking . I must say on today of all days, this has been a real pleasure. I've learnt alot about cooking and much more about myself. All of my ingredients coming from Tescos including chicken (116g), tomatoes (200g), sweet corn(168g) , Penne (90) and Tomato & Basil Stir In. I learnt that my chicken was a little overcooked with Pasta and sweetcorn in abundance. Cooking by microwave was easy and eating was a real treat and coming in at 547 kCals. But my stomach feels unsated so a little supper later on might be in order. Cannot figure out how to get photos here so My team of assistance will be replaced with a picture of my meal for this week. Enjoy...

Hi Greyone

What a super dinner that was, very low calorie, I may swap the sweetcorn for sweet pepper next time, well worth the effort. Thank you for your suggestion......right, who will choose next months meal, ?@RealEyes perhaps, just let us know what you decide.

I think that's a great idea. How often do you think we should indulge ? I am looking forward to any ideas for the next one.

I like your ideas about a Virtual Dinner Celebration day for those of us who can appreciate connecting in unconventional ways ... being very unconventional myself :) soo, with all going well with me and timing and food, I will connect with yous over time, space and many miles on this Sunday ... as a way to acknowledge our common humanity and shared losses ... that are soo much a part of life.

Good and positive suggestion chloe40 ... I will see about reconnecting here in a timely manner in follow up to this Sunday's 'get together'.

In peace and serenity to all those grappling with the pain n losses that death brings to many of us ... realeyes

So lovely that you will be joining Greyone and myself RealEyes that's a good start and I hope we may attract one or two more but if not, no matter we will enjoy our virtual lunch!

It's something special that we can appreciate the 'company' of our friends here and have a meal together knowing we have much in common, despite the distance between us.

Enjoy

Hi RealEyes, It's kind of you to come along and swell that you add to our numbers. I will admit that i always thought of myself as not a food person but Choe's suggestion really took a hold on me and even with my basic microwave it worked well.

Challenging and grief full times continue to take up my time ... n tough for me to visit here and so sometimes it takes me awhile ...

Food is such a positive experience and wonder full to share with others, even in the virtual world :)

Thinking of yous and i participate on Sunday afternoons in sharing thoughtful food n positive feelings for virtual friends and also for those loved ones that share with us in spirit. I appreciate this.

Take care of yourselves chloe40 and Greyone as we carry on in our separate yet connected food and grief sharing journeying, RE
