Hello I have Arhtritis in various forms also Hypothyroidism . I take T4 and supplement with private T3 to help with my thyroid . I inject with both Methotrexate and Secukinumab for the Arthrirtis . I have had Glandular fever as a child and poor health since .. numerous ear throat infections culminating in tonsils being removed after numerous courses of antibiotics up and into my teens . I am continually unwell feeling like I have a bug .. Which increases the arthritis pain and the brain fog plus lethargy . I'm thinking about taking supplements for adrenal support but wonder if it would be counter intuitive ? Have read about Monolaurin Selenium , Boron and Magnesium (which I do take ) ..all advised to help re Mono / Barr Epstein .

Any advice please

Hello Middleagedandtired. I do sympathise - brain fog is hard to deal with on top of all the rest. I feel that on this forum we shouldn’t be giving you too much help on supplements, for fear they might interreact with your prescribed medication.

Have you had a chat with a pharmacist? They are often the bees knees on drugs. Also, do you see an endocrinologist about your thyroid, and have you asked for help there?

Supplements are very individual: as an example, both my husband and I suffer from different forms of arthritis. He takes magnesium, which you mentioned, as do some of his golfing friends, but it does nothing for me. Conversely, I take Glucosamine with Chondritin with great benefit for my feet, and turmeric for my back. Neither of these do a thing for my husband.

I do wish you well.
