Hi Seyi, I tried it years ago, but for migraines. Didn't do anything for my migraines, but that's not to say it won't work for you for the anxiety, and as you say, anythings worth a try. Mind you, the guy doing it was about 90, so if he turns up at your house ... :)

Hi Kaz

your comment really made me laugh about the guy being 90 i am still laughing about it now can just picture the thought.

Must admit after the session i felt very relaxed so hoping it continues and helps me anything is worth a try.

Hope you are keeping well

He had shaky hands as well .... ! I see below it went well and you felt you benefitted from it, so all good. I have had massage and aromatherapy in the past, found that very relaxing and fell asleep, so might be something you'd enjoy... I think sometimes just taking the time to do something totally for ourselves can help, Im sure none of us do that enough.

Hi seyi

You are right , anything is worth a go

Let us no how it goes , will be interesting , as with everything , some people say they don't think it works & others speak very highly of it

Hope it works for you though

Hi whywhy

Thanks for your valued comment yes anything is worth a go to make some progress i am just getting so fed up with all this anxiety and panic attacks and its like try anything to just feel my old self again.

Well i must say for the first session not knowing what to expect it went really well.

The needles i never felt (thank goodness) and the conversation and advice given afterwards made sense to work towards a recovery. I am going to have one session a week for six weeks to see if this is able to help me.

The lady had suffered herself and understood all the fears phobias and fear so i felt more relaxed.

I woudl recommend it just for 25 mins of chill time felt like i was floating at one time and she said it would help with a decent nights sleep.

It is early to say at the moment but i am going to give anything a go :)

Hope all is going well with you taking the medicationn and just remember its doing your health and well being better than not taking them.

Hope you have a good evening

Hugs

I had acupuncture from lovely dude during my last anxiety episode years ago. Went for a while. I did find it helpful and calmer after but not cured. He was lovely to talk to and did chinese massage too. Think you should try it. My anxiety caused by childhood events so difficult to treat. It cured my frozen shoulder quickly and bad back. Also sister went as wasnt getting pregnant and it worked! Go for it! X

Hi blue

Thank you for your comment and i am hoping acupuncture helps me with panic attacks and anxiety like i said anything is worth a try. I must admit i did feel calm afterwards and the lady said i would most likely get a good nights sleep. :) that is something to look forward to. I am going to have six sessions over six weeks so will decide then if its helped me in anyway.

Hope you are keeping well.

Like most of the respondees, I am really interested to hear how you get on with acupuncture for anxiety relief. I haven't heard of any reports - positive or negative , but if it can help in any way, it has to be on the list of "tools for the toolbox". We all look for the "magic bullet" that will cure our affliction, but I suspect it is like many of the other tools (natural or chemical) in that different individuals will have different degrees of success. I really hope it works for you, very best of luck with it - keep us all posted !!

Hi Seyi, thank you for the initial feedback, it sounds encouraging.

all the best, MH xxx

I had accupuncture for years, partly for injuries, partly for anxiety, it does make you feel calmer, but it didn't cure it, but then I'm an unusual case :-)

Would be interested to see if it helps though

Wish you the best

hi seyi , i suffer from ptsd , and have accupuncture twice a week . the lady puts six needles in certain points in my ears, then turns the lights off.

i close my eyes and i tend to go to sleep amazingly, after an hour she wakes me up and removes the needles.

the accupuncture helps me relax , and is supposed to help with my sleeping pattern . it doesnt help me sleep , but i do feel more relaxed. plus she puts two so called seeds in my ears, not sure how they work , but i have them anyway.

i get it free on the nhs , have a look around for a centre near you that does it if its costly.

give it a go my friend ...

Hi Misaq

I am going to have acupuncture once a week for six weeks to see if if can help me with the panic attacks anxiety etc. The lady did the same to me applied six needles which thank goodness did not hurt turned the lights off and was burning a scented candle which was relaxing.

I sat with my eyes closed hands held out and drifted when the session was completed she removed the needles and said come back slowly.

She did say that i would sleep soundly so thats a bonus. :)

I am keeping an open mind but also taking in what she is advising me to do.

Let us hope we may get some comfort from this and help towards taking back control of our lives.

Will keep you posted on the progress and hope it works for you also.

Take care best of luck.

Hi Sheffied you had me cracking up with laughter about porkers :) I am not a lover of needles either but as the tiny pins were put in the lady explained. 1. was for kidney 2.liver 3. emotional. 4 physical 5.for lower lung and being a smoker felt a little pinch nothing more than that. Promise you it was not painful as i would not be having it again next week. I was nervous at first but then that is nothing unusal for me hahahaha.

Must admit i had a peaceful nights sleep which was brilliant as i am up and down like a yo yo. Also i did feel calm and relaxed.

It is early days at the moment but as time goes on i will inform you more of the progress.

With no lies :)

Take care
