I am an 18 year old female, not over weight and have had two ECG's and a full blood test - normal. My heart seems to beat so fast especially at the moment as I am away from home I hate it and it makes me feel so, so scared does anyone else have this and is it dangerous! X

Hi love i have had the same had ecg bloods and fine try and do something to occupy yourself hun and then you will notice its not there then when you sit and think about it it will cone back its so scary i know how you feel but it is your anxiety playing with your mind xxxx
Hey, No it is not dangerous in the slightest. The main thing to remember is increased heart-rate cannot harm you and even though you may feel little light-headed or dizzy with it there is no way you can faint/pass out or black out cos it increases your blood pressure! Blood pressure has to be very low in order for you to pass out. When it happens, sit down and take a deep in through your nose pushing your stomach out hold it for 2 seconds then slowly breath back out through your mouth. it will help to naturally relax your body. best of luck x
Try belly breathing is very effective- I fully agree with the person above who says that you will not pass out. You may get tingling this is basic biochemistry and nothing to worry about. If you like try a few belly breaths but with your hands around your nose and mouth( like you would with a paper bag) and re breathe this will put you blood oxygen concentration back right.
Thank you both I am doing the belly breathing xxxx
