What is the longest amount of time anyone has dealt with this due to anxiety? I've had it before and appetite does come back, but when you experience it, it feels like it never will.
This is always my biggest concern, and actually causes more anxiety. Not eating worries me
Kind regards

It helps when we lose our appetite to have sugar or honey or something sweet to keep us a little pepped. I have found tea with lots of sugar eventually does stimulate the appetite. It is important to get energy ...even if we are just sitting around ....the appettie comes back of itself and until it does come back it is a good idea to rely on sweet things that don't overface us.
Try some honey or tea with sugar and keep on drinking this .
Hope this helps, SL : )
Hi there, I agree with swan, my appetite has been very low lately, I eat a couple of squares of chocolate, only a couple as I'm not that keen, crisps are my downfall lol. I find that and a sweet drink help my energy levels. Xxx best wishes xxx
I found out recently that your digestive system actually shuts down when you are anxious, this helped me as my appetite always disapears and I just blame myself again. Stick to little and often and things that are easy to digest.
Like you I feel I will never eat again but I do in time, you can't force it. It can take up to a week but at the moment it doesn't take much to make me anxious so it can come and go quite easily. Try Dextrosol tablets from chemist, it's glucose and vit c. xxxxx
Thank you for your answers. At the moment it seems to be on and off, like I am still eating but the pleasure of eating isn't there. It's a chore which makes me more anxious. When I'm feeling great I'm snacking all day without thought and eat a large meal at night - just wish I could feel like that again
Your appetite will come back . I understand what you mean about not enjoying the food but it being more of a chore.
I beleive you should while you are going through this try something called Orovite. They sell it in Asda and some Chemists. It is a drink with most of the vitamin and minerals you need . It will rehydrate you and at the same time put your mind at restbecause at least you will know you are getting the full spectrum of minerals and vitamins. And it is a good refreshing drink too ...not like a replacement meal at all.
thanks for the hopeful words. yeah I think a friend of mine used to have that from Tesco. problem is I'm based in Canada now, and this has caused the anxiety for me. Instead I'm taking a mulitvitamin and B 100 Complex. B complex seemed to of helped in the past.
I'm just getting more concerned as the days go by, it's been around 2 weeks since getting here and appetite hasn't seemed to of come back to it's old self
You might then need an anti-depressant to jump-start your system.
I have used anti-depressants for only two weeks and then left them alone. They do help. I prefer them short term , say a couple of weeks . And contrary to what they say, they begin to work immediately.
Hope this helps a bit and hope you soon pick up. : )
