why do i feel like this now?

hi havent been on here for a while feeling really good until this weekend my son is coming home from afganistan on friday i feel a wreck my horrible feelings again feeling sick shaky paicky head like cotton wool cant think straight unreality back why has it hit me now everyone says ive been too strong horrible feeling x

Thats the hardest part, we can go for days and weeks sometimes and then all of a sudden it hits you like a wet fish in the face. Anxiety and Panic are so easy to come along but so very difficult to make go away. You should be very proud of your son, try and relax and keep yourself going with thinking of that moment he walks through the door : )

Yes it comes & goes - normally returning when you relax & think everything's OK now. Or as in your case when an important event is approaching. But you can be certain that it WILL go away again. One of the very few nice things about anxiety is the day when you feel distinctly on the mend - things improve & you can enjoy just having a normal day so much more than anyone else. Best wishes.

thanks very much for your replies i know it can go but it horrible when its here but ive got to be positive its the unreality i cant deal with its frightening x

Unreality is really hard to deal with, 3 things I try to remember to help are that firstly its caused by anxiety and harmless neurotransmitters in the body. Secondly, the feelings never get any worse, despite the fear your losing your mind, it never happens. Finally remember it cannot and will not hurt you no matter what.
