This one is slightly embarrassing but I post it just in case others find it useful. Been feeling sick over the past few weeks with symptoms of food poisoning at first I thought it was lettuce (thanks Google) so I cut it out. Then I thought it might be my kids using my phone so I started sanitising my phone and upping my hand washing.
Then I got onto another worry (thanks again Google) I started to be concerned my stainless steel water bottle had a plastic liner. So I look in it and lo and behold I see what looks like plastic coating the inside. I reach in to confirm it and my fingers hit what feels like a layer of grease....then I reach up under the lip and to my horror there is a jelly like layer of bacteria coating under the bottom of the lip (the bit you can't see) it looks like a small slug on my finger. I always rinse the damn thing but it would appear that does absolutely nothing.
Needless to say I am now planning to exorcise my poison waterbottle in the dishwasher and scrub it every day with extreme prejudice .
My takeaways from this sorry episode:
-Anxiety is not all bad, it motivated me to find a cause
-Google is not a substitute for clear thinking and IRL observation
-WASH YOUR DAMN WATERBOTTLE!!!!
