hey, I have been on 15mg for around 2 months which has kinder been ok and I have felt the anxiety (I have health anxiety) kinder creep back, so I asked the doctor to up my dose which the agreed to 30mg. I have not had any side effects and sleep 7.5-8.5 hrs a night, although the dreams are strange but that’s fine. My question: is it like when you first start taking Mirtrazapine you have to give it several weeks to start helping, I think it’s been 10 days so far on the increased dose? Ta

Mirtrazapine
Hi,Mirtazapine is like any of the antidepressants in that it takes a while for it to kick in. The benefit is getting better sleep 😴 and better control of anxiety.
Since you are upping the dose, it should be noticeable sooner. Of course this is variable due to body chemistries being so different e.g. I didn't experience the strange dream state.
You will need to weigh yourself weekly to keep a look out for a known side effect, creeping weight gain. Pick the same night of the week and keep a written note.
I didn't and before long I added 10kg which is proving difficult to shift🤔
All the best 🐈⬛
I am on it as well. It has been my go to for episodic depression. This last round I went up to 30 mgs a day. However, I read that for true sleep, 1-10mg actually helps sleep. However, wouldn't help with the anxiety. I just find it fascinating.
It took until week 3 for me to start feeling the benefits after going to 30mg and after 6 weeks I felt pretty good
I have the most bizarre and interesting dreams but as soon as I wake I instantly forget most of them. They are usually quite detailed. 30mg Mirtazapine at night. When I was on amitriptyline (Endep) for many years I slept well but also had horrific nightmares quite frequently where I would wake up shaking. I'd see blood, death incidents and giant spiders on my walls. God knows why I stayed on them so long. I also take HRT which helps with my mood swings.
