Thanks for your post. I get feeling scared. It's all about fear of losing control of our mind according to my psych.
The logical part 🧠 is trying so hard that it gets the thought signals from another area mixed up.
I am trying so hard to do mindfulness when this happens.
If you can manage to catch the build up in time, the magic words are, " there you are my anxiety. I know this anxiety or thought will pass. I have the power to wait this out. I will breathe through this." Breathe in for count of 3 and out for 6. Repeat 3-5 times or until you feel calmer and safer, back in control.
I struggle so much to catch thoughts in time to concentrate on my breathing.
Practice makes perfect so the saying goes.
omg thank you for sharing . it happening when i am falling asleep and while i am sleeping like my thoughts wake me up idk if it makes sense
I know exactly what you mean. I have had this too, even waking up to nocturnal panic attacks which aren't much fun.
If we can't stop waking up, we are eventually going to be in trouble with broken sleep and the decrease in the quality of our sleep.
The only thing that might work is to journal just before going to bed, with or without a warm drink. Celebrate the good things for the day and the things that are still to be done tomorrow. Close the book on the day and head for bed.
Research "sleep hygeine" for some other ideas. If none of these work, consider getting some short term medication. It doesn't have to be prescribed. Talking to a pharmacist for over the counter tablets is just as good.
