I have suffered from anxiety/depression for three/four years which I have treated with mindfulness .
I have many ailments to deal with and cannot take any antidepressant because of my present medication. I was dealing with the anx/depression well but recently developed cellulitis which was treated with two antibiotics. That was about a month ago and my anxiety and depression has gone through the roof, especially wakening about 5 am and so depressed.
Can anyone suggest what I might do?

I also get terrible anxiety and depression when taking antibiotics. I have fount that taking probiotics helps this. I take Digestive Advantage Daily Probiotics (2 a day). Also, foods like Greek yogurt and other fermented foods help too. I know exactly how you feel, and it’s hard to deal with.
Hi Rosa2019 - Thank you so much for reaching out to me. I was wondering about a probiotic and shall try to get the one you suggested.
I was with my GP yesterday and told him how desperate I felt whilst on clarithromycin. I lost half a stone weight, felt at times I wanted to die, could not walk properly, had internal tremors for several days, migraine headaches, nausea and many more symptoms. I am still having difficulty with sleeping and at times do not want to eat at all. That was a month ago and I still feel very down. GP said he had never heard of anyone with these symptoms even though they are on the patient leaflet. I have suffered anxiety in the past and of course he jumped on that and said it was just a return of my depressive symptoms. Sometimes they will just not listen.
Thankyou again and I hope neither of us will need an antibiotic anytime soon.
