Can you offer me some tips on my anxiety?

I have been in this terrible pervasive anxiety thing for like three years.

I used to do very well at work, but now I can barely touch anything that is related to anything from work!

I can't think of the project that I am about to do, because the minute these thoughts bump into my mind, a voice will start saying something extremely mean like " No, you can never finish this! People won't like the project that you come up with and they won't support. You are done. Your life is over."

And while I am trapped in this painful situation and not able to do anything, the voice will force me to think that my competitors are trying their best and I will fall behind, which just adds more stress and makes it more difficult for me to get started!

Hello :-)

I am sorry to read you are suffering and this sounds like you have some form of ocd kind of anxiety related to work which as you have been suffering 3 years has now took control

You could do with some talking therapy if you live in the UK you can self refer by goodling talking therapy and the area you live in but you do need some help as this will just take even more control the longer you leave it so talk with your Doctor and get the help you need and this can be reversed with the right support :-) x

Thank you for your advice😀 But I have a little question about what 'ocd kind of anxiety' means? I am not a specialist in psychology so I feel a bit confused.

Hello :-)

OCD which I have people tend to think it is just based on mostly one thing like people washing hands all the time but that is so wrong it can come in any form and is like an obsession it tells you not to do something out of fear and it sounded like even though you are anxious as it is focused on one thing if this could be a form of ocd due to your anxiety

I am no expert either it was just a thought which if you talk with your Doctor might be able to help decide what is happening and the best therapy that could help :-) x

Hi BeKind28. I agree with you about the OCD. I also have it, and you are right. The anxiety could be causing OCD.

Yes it could be sounds like it is taking the pattern of ocd the way it is affecting the poster

Hopefully they will be able to talk with their Doctor and get some support and advise :-) x

I use guided meditation from, Potentials unlimited. The relax one would help you. Ray.

Hi there, I use guided mediation and mindfulness techniques from the Insight Timer App, you can download it for free and there are a lot of topics you can choose to listen to. It deals with OCD too. Maybe one of them will help - even a wee bit. Good luck!
