Just quick update.... Been using eyelash serum. Whilst it's lengthen what few eyelashes I have it's not grown the gaps I have. Done my hardest not to pull in last 3 months. Any other ideas to help grow?

Skyp, I just started my profile on here and found your posts. I struggle with Trich, but on my head. I have kind of an obsession with split-ends and rough-textured hairs. I tear and pull out my hair. So far I haven't found anything very helpful to stop besides setting a stopwatch to celebrate how much time I can go without pulling or picking. Any other ideas? Also I know that it can feel embarrassing to feel like others can see where you pulled, have you considered very natural looking false eyelashes for when you go out? Maybe having them on could help serve as a barrier to prevent further picking too?

Hi. This trich is just so awful isn't it! It's so hard to explain how the obsession to pull comes over you. Well I been using eyelash serum. Trouble is as soon as I get them growing I'm picking and pulling again. I even put glasses on hoping that will discourage me. I try to keep a note of when I pull them. Like how my mood is to see if there is some sort of pattern like anxious etc.... Half the time I dont realise I'm doing it. I tried false eyelashes but kept pulling them off. How long have you had trich? Have you tried writing down to see if there is any sort of pattern to it? Yes I feel people are looking at my eyelids. And I feel so embarrassed. Wish I could think of other ideas to help and also to help you and others that do this. Keep me posted as to how you get on.

Skyp, I have struggled with Trich for just under ten years. I have noticed that my picking and pulling worsens when bored or tired or stressed. I am pretty sure that it is mostly a stimulation regulation thing for me. I can understand feeling embarrassed, I feel the same way when my hair is visible. I don't like people looking at my patches of shorter/torn hair in the back of my head. I think it is so hard to deal with Trich because I am pretty sure that the experts don't even have a lot of solutions. I talked to my doctor about it today and she said it was primarily SSRI and exposure therapy. It is so disheartening, but I am glad to find people to go through it with at least.

Hi classicalbluekitty. Yes it's very disheartening.just wish there was a way for us to stop. I agree the experts don't even have solutions. I been doing this for such a long time. Have you tried writing down everytime you notice yourself pulling?
