i been taking Ativan and changed to diazepam about 25 years ago I have now been taking these tablets for nearly 50 years now, I been on 4mg a day for over 15 years now, Could this be the reason my legs shake when standing up or walking, Parkinsons has been ruled out by my consultant.

I personally doubt it very much, 4mg is a tiny amount. Good that you got off lorazepam, you did well, which is pretty lethal, ie 1mg equals 10mg diazepam. Diazepam is used to taper off the stronger benzos. Why not cut it back to say 3.5mg for a few days or follow the Ashton tapering. I have been on benzos on and off for the last 37 years. I was on bromazepam until i came back to the UK and they made it a private drug. Through various unpleasant things happening, ie husband dying when daughter was 3, I gave them up after six years. I then went through another vile situation where my hyperparathyroidism was ignored by the NHS for 5 years and foolishly I obtained lorazepam which felt wonderful at the time but hell to get off. 2.5 years on after a private parathyroid operation and then other things going on slipped back and have to buy the bromazepam. Diazepam doesn't do much for me at all, sometimes take 5mg at night. My feet and leg problem started directly after the covid vax and have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy as a result so created more anxiety. Your system has probably got used to the 4mg so might take a while to get off it if you want to prove to yourself it is not the cause of your shaky legs. Good luck benzo.org.uk/manual/bzsched...

There is a support group on Facebook called Beating Benzos. I don't belong any more but I recall they had a telephone number or address where people could get in touch. A friend i met on there I recall used to have a guy phone her each week. The admin said i should report the GP when he told me to more or less get on with it and wasn't going to prescribe any diazepam etc to get me off it. I couldnt be bothered with all that and so i used to Ashton manual and weaned myself off. I was taking Lorazepam which was awful.

4mg is such a small amount I doubt very much it is that which is causing your legs to shake. Have you looked at any other possibilities. As an example I got coerced into taking the covid jab and as a result I have peripheral neuropathy and my feet buzz and are on fire most of the time and it's spreading up my legs. I would possibly been okay but have an auto immune disease and I have since read a doctors article on UNICEF where he advised against the Pfizer with Hashimotos.

There are many reasons for shaking legs, it could be something quite simple or even as a result of taking benzos for so long. It's good that Parkinsons has been ruled out medicalnewstoday.com/articl...
