Relatively new here. Has anyone experienced skipped heartbeats non-stop for the whole day? It began for me yesterday and continues today. I have had skipped beats for many years but never for such a prolonged time . I have had all kind of tests last year which came out normal. My cardiologist prescribed Propranolol as needed but it doesn’t seem to work this time. I have generalized anxiety and I’m going through a difficult time so it could be a symptom of the anxiety. It’s the weekend here in the US so doctor is not available. Thank you in advance.

It is probably anxiety related, but check with your cardiologist on Monday. If you have additional concerns consider going to the ER over the weekend
I agree with b1b1b1, definitely contact your cardiologist Monday, but if you are concerned and it’s making you uncomfortable or worsening, it would be best to go to the ER. I hope you feel better soon.
Welcome, Castellina. Yes, there is a strong connection between anxiety and missed heart beats, they are a common symptom. But b1b1b1 and sh0526 are absolutely right, do talk to your doctor at the earliest for the reassurance that it is 'only' nerves. Your experience is very similar to mine. Over the years I have had short periods of missed heart beats which I could always relate to some stressful event.
Then about 18 months ago I started getting on average one missed beat in ten non-stop. I saw a cardiologist who said it wasn't the kind of arrhythmia that's a problem. So there was no medical intervention.
Then I came across online posts from people who said that taking two Magnesium Citrate 100mg a day can be helpful in stopping the missed beats. One said he had been advised to do this by his cardiologist. So I bought some online and started taking them, this was about 5 months after the missed beats started.
Two weeks after taking the Magnesium Citrate tablets the missed beats stopped completely. But I kept taking the Magnesium Citrate. Then about 4 months later they started again for about 3 months and then stopped again, that was about 7 months ago and they haven't returned. Naturally, I continue to take 2 x 100mg Magnesium Citrate tablets each day.
We are all different. What works for some probably doesn't work for everyone. I'm just telling you my experience for what it is worth. But one thing is for sure: do see your doctor soon as possible and if you feel dizzy or faint go to ER right away.
I suspect your missed beats are an anxiety symptom but I am not medically qualified, just experienced in the ways of anxiety, so seek your doctor's reassurance, don't just presume it's anxiety. Do tell us what your doctors decided.
I have had this on two occasions where my heart with skip what felt like every other beat for the whole day. Nothing happened to me and on both occasions it went away on its own.
That is not to say that you should not get these things looked at, but its just to provide you with a little comfort that it will hopefully go away and that it doesnt nesserily do you any harm.
