has anyone ever experienced the burning sensation in the chest from anxiety without having a full-blown panic attack as far as hyperventilating but you do have the high heart rate? How do you notice that sometimes during sex I get the burning sensation in my chest almost like when i experience my full-blown panic attacks back in the day although it doesn’t last long and I don’t feel short of breath I think it’s from me getting overly excited and me noticing that in the past I’ve had numerous multiple normal/perfect EKGs a 30 day event monitor, Normal stress test also an echo test all came back normal. I’ve been dealing with heart anxiety for past 7 years since I was 20 years old I am now 27 with new symptoms. I’ve been recently getting back into exercising slowly only a few sets a day because I feel myself getting anxious during my workouts which has caused me to have a panic attack any advice from you guys will be appreciate it thanks in advance and God bless

Overproduction of gastric juices is possible because of anticipational fear

that has nothing to do with the heart. Breathe :) xx

The mind doesn't differentiate between good excitement and bad.

*this is due to the over stimulation of our nervous system. Believe in your

doctors that your heart is okay :) xx

Kingchris, I can only go by my own experiences with Anxiety and Heart Phobia

It was a number one fear that I also had years ago. It took believing in my doctors

and convincing myself through exercise that I was more than okay. The problem

was in my mind and not my body.

Once I started working out and seeing that I felt better, I was convinced once

and for all. :) xx

Have you been checked for heartburn? I have Gerd and mine come my stomach to chest because the flap near my stomach doesn't completely close.

Hi Kingchris, Anxiety is a normal reaction to change in our bodies - for most people it is NOT the mental health issue that it is widely believed to be. It is the body's hormones Adrenalin and noradrenalin responding to fight or flight issues - in some cases this is down to circumstances such as fear in a car crash, being afraid of the dark, getting ready for a fight, or argument, or even having sex. Likewise a burning sensation in the chest can be anxiety, heart condition, panic attack, dry mouth, or it can be reflux caused by eating a meal prior to any of the above or having sex. You say you have had various tests including ECG's (I'm from England) and wearing a halter monitor for 30 days, golly, we get a maximum of 48 hours with a halter here! Plus your echo which was negative. I used to have severe panic attacks that would last for days rather than weeks. My doctor put me on all sorts of medication which quite honestly took away more than half of my life (I'm almost 75, so from 30 - 70) I was diagnosed with a very rare non-cancerous tumour called a phaochromacytoma, which should have been in my adrenal glands, but was in my liver and therefore inoperable, because it is so small it is not visible to the naked eye. Ten years after diagnosis I went to my priest for laying on of hands, 3 months later the tumour had disappeared. Thank YOU LORD! At the age of 70 I decided to reclaim what was left of my life. I came off all anti-anxiety tablets, - with the help of my cardiologist, who was with me every step of the way. I still have episodes of Atrial Fibrillation, which is where my heart goes off on a tangent, during these I then experience many of the symptoms you mention. My suggestion - remember I am not a doctor or medic, I am a Christian Lay Minister, is for you to seek the help of either a priest, counsellor, friend whom you can trust to be honest, but non-judgmental and confidential, and look into your life from childhood. Very often when these panics and anxieties appear it is because the brain is telling us something went awry, and needs being looked at, instead of dwelling on these things we need to bring them out and examine them - Your ending remark was, 'God bless,' I am assuming you have a faith of sorts I don't know how deep your understanding is, but I do know that the LORD wants for everyone of us to be whole. Mind, Body, and Spirit. Meditation is good. Just one more point I don't know if you are married, in a relationship or playing the field, but it could also be when you have sex (do you find that different to making love?) You become concerned, worried about whether you are satisfying your partner. If this could be the case you need to regain your self confidence and lay that one to rest.
