Maybe you need a different medication. This is something you must discuss with your doctor.

Sorry to hear you are lost. I think you would benefit from a visit to your doctors before you increase your meds, after 8 years maybe they can suggested how else you might feel less anxious. I always try a long brisk walk to help bring the anxiety levels down a bit.

Hi. I strongly suggest you get in touch with MIND and get into mindfulness…it’s helped me a lot. Look up Mooji guided meditation on YouTube…it may seem odd at first but if you stick with it you will find it helps a lot.

Hi, you don't actually say who authorised your jump from 25mg to 50mg of Zoloft. If you did this off your own volition I strongly urge you to return to your GP for immediate advice, such medication should never be upped without advice from your practitioner. On the other hand if your doctor has increased this, it may take a while to get into the system before it begins to benefit you. Either way I would advise a GP visit, if only to ascertain you are not taking too much. I would also suggest either a call with MIND, as suggested by another responder, or call the Samaritans for advice. Although they are a charity who deal with suicides, they can provide a wealth of other organisations who could be of help to you. I think it would be helpful for you to have a 'one to one' facial appointment with someone who is able to listen to your story and point you in the right direction. Whatever you do, do not stop taking the strength of this medication in one cut, but ask instead for advice to do it safely, likewise do not increase any more without checking with medic.

I was on zoloft for a number of years and it didn't really help me, even increasing the dosage. i tried a number of other meds without success and then did a psychopharmacological test which used my dna to determine which meds were best suited for me genetically. I started on one it recommended (Pristiq) and it has worked well. The test was from Genesight and was paid for by my insurance.
