I had a burnout a year ago and I’m battling back. Since the burnout I’ve had three episodes of real dread and terror, they last about a week then go. I’ve also just started to suffer from restless leg syndrome as well. I take quetiapine (50mg) and mirtazapine (15mg). Anybody have any experience of something like this??

Hey Ben! Sorry you have been feeling that way. I find that anxiety can manifest in many different ways and comes and goes as it pleases. I’ve definitely had many days and weeks of feeling dread and terror that come and go. Is there anything in particular that you can pinpoint as to why you think you may be having these episodes? If you don’t mind me asking what do you mean by a burnout? Have you considered or are you talking to someone professionally about how you’re feeling. I really struggled for a while and one of the things the grounded me was the “calm” app it helps breathing through and bringing you to the present. I haven’t personally been put on any medication for RLS so I can’t speak to that but I can understand the feeling of what you’re going through. I hope that you start to feel better soon. Please feel free to respond if you just need someone to talk to. This site is pretty good about just letting you get out what you need to.
Hi, I had a burnout at work. Basically I had headaches which then turned into 96 hours of paced agitation and I had a breakdown. I’ve battled back but have these episodes where I just feel all nervous and have a sense of doom.. it’s really difficult to describe
I see what you mean now. It sounds like you haven’t given up! Good for you! I know exactly how you’re feeling. For no good reason you just feel like something bad is going to happen to you- I’ve had that feeling plenty of times. Anxiety has a way of taking over your mind and making you feel like that. What have you been doing to try battle your episodes so to speak?
I see a psychologist, I find that going for walks helps. I’m prescribed quetiapine and mirtazapine to help… I’m fine most of the time but then I’ll have a week of feeling terrible. Do you have something similar?
I don’t have RLS so I can’t relate there. I have however had episodes that have lasted for weeks and gone away. There is usually some sort of trigger that I don’t understand. Once I started understanding that they were just anxiety and that nothing was actually going to happen to me the length and severity of the episodes would decrease. Have you made sure there were/ are no side effects of the medicine you are prescribed? Have you noticed anything particularly stressful or something that happens or you think about before these episodes happen?
No, I don’t know what triggers it. I am asking for my dr to refer me to a psychiatrist as I don’t believe I’m on the right meds? Maybe they are causing it rather than preventing it?
Can you recall when the feeling of dread started in coordination with any new meds? It’s a far stretch but you may wanna discuss with ur dr akathisia.i reemphasize discuss withdr
