Hypnic jerk ...sleep issue

Does anyone out here suffering from hypnic jerk due to anixty disorder...i was diagnosed with anixty disorder..but it's more than 6 months and I do suffer from symptoms till now ....and I can't even sleep due to this hypnic jerk

Huxly. In the height of my Anxiety, I couldn't sleep at all. Every 15 minutes, just as I start to fall asleep, it wakes me.

Try different positions. It helps me when I'm on my side.

Yes, I went onto zopiclone. Bad mistake for me personally. It happens sometimes, so just even now but after fighting it and worrying I'll not sleep, I remember the best thing is accept it, sooner or later it will go away.

Yes. I had those. They suck. I get them on my back mostly. Are you on any new anxiety meds? I got them really bad when I started taking Paxil.

Current i am not taking any medicine..but i am going to consult a psychiatrist since my symptoms are not going away.. even after 6 months

My husband has been suffering from chronic anxiety and depression for 6 months. He cannot keep his limbs still and he is getting very little sleep. The psychiatrist specialist has just started him on pregabalin and trazodone for sleep. He says it can take a couple of weeks to work so I am hoping this helps. Perhaps you need some medication too.

Hi, yes I get it when I’m in an anxiety state. It’s the body’s fight and flight system which is in operation due to the anxiety. You get used to it but it does cause sleeplessness nights.
