Hey everyone so I’m at a real loss feeling like I’ve got no answers as to why I’m having these weird head sensations. So 8 weeks ago I started with a pressure on top of my head which has just increased in intensity over the last few weeks. It’s constantly there from The moment I wake up. It’s actually though debilitating not because it’s painful because it’s not but just because it makes me feel disoriented and weird. I’ve been to a&e and had a CT scan and they found an empty sella so I’m having a mri on my pituitary gland next week but I don’t think that’s causing it.
Now it feels like someone has their nails digging into my scalp so it’s that sort of pressure feeling and like I’m just waiting for it to release but it never does. I also have burning feeling inside my head like my head is on fire but that comes and goes. I have neck pain too and I’ve googled and googled and just can’t find anything that seems to relate to how the sensation feels. It’s making me so scared though because I have no answers. Can anyone relate at all?

I went through the pressure and burning sensation for years. It seems to come and go. I havent had the burning feeling for a long time, but the pressure still comes.
I've had these symptoms for 5 years straight. One of the worst things to experience ever. It seemed to be caused by muscle tightness and neck alignment issues. And oh, I have severe neck pain too. Its so bad, its like my face is being squeezed together, head being pushed in, and that in turn causes a sensation of shortness of breadth, dizziness, brain fog. blurry vision, etc. I am on a benzo and that helps a little but not all the time. I also use a wet cloth on my head covered with a face cap. That give me some relief.
It’s so hard isn’t it to cope with. To be honest I took a diazepam on Monday and it went but obviously they are addictive so I can’t keep taking them. I’ve just ordered an infared neck massager to see if that helps my neck but the sharp prickly sensations in my head are so off putting and make me more anxious
It is and I totally understand being careful with benzos unfortunately, I have been stuck with one for four years on account of being diagnosed with POTS too. I also bought one of those neck massagers but I have been terrified to use it.
