A sympathetic ear

I am not on here just now for myself and any problems I might have (which thankfully are not many) but to offer to be a sort of what used to be called "an agony Aunt". I am a senior female aged 78. I have been there, done it and got the tea shirt and would like to think that I might give something back to a wonderful life (mainly) !! that I have had. I was once a Samaritan volunteer and nothing really phases me. For anybody suffering in these current times, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter by the day and spring is around the corner.

I am not suffering too badly, kind of self-diagnosed social anxiety which has worsened as a result of bullying in a former workplace last year. At least one person from that workplace spread some nasty false rumours about me after I left. I know this because 2 of my adult children heard them back through their friends. I know some people believe these rumours. I would like to go for a walk now, but am afraid of encountering people. More local people walking on our local road and on beach now due to 5k limit

I mentioned in my first post above I am a mature lady. I came to the conclusion years ago before I got older that those who are nasty and are bullies and generally jealous. When I was a young working woman I was very attractive and always had loads of boyfriends. I have witnessed bitchiness many times in earlier years because of this. My advice - be strong and go for that walk, or take somebody with you - safely distancing of course. I wish you all the best.

Thing is though, I am middle-aged, so was my chief bully. Mind you, I am happily married, she lives alone. Possibly an element of jealousy still then? I did go for that walk by the way, it was pleasant. Thanks for your reply

Thank you Don, your kind comment is much appreciated, particulary as last week was rather tough.

I hope you are doing well. I read your post recently about your sad losses during Covid, l simply was not sure how to reply.

I offer you heartfelt condolences.

It is heartwarming that we have your cheerful and encouraging presence here again.
