Hello! I’m the same age, and suffer with irregular heart beats due to anxiety. My problem is it always feels like it’s going to explode of of my chest! Are you on any anti anxieties/beta blockers? My beta blockers make my heart rate go pretty low. Like you said, if they were worried, they’d have let you know! I know it’s easier said than done, all my recent ECGs came back normal and I still panic x

I get that its scary! I suffer the same way, but I start panicking when it goes too high and gives me palpitations :( I know it’s easier said than done, but trust them. If they were worried about it being low, they would let you know. For people our age it’s very common to have lower heart rates. It will get easier, you’re going to have good and bad days, but it does start to get easier :)

Thankyou I appreciate that x

Hi are you on medication ? I was reading your posts and was thinking how awful it is that you are so anxious and that there must be something that can help you , have your thoughts ever gone in the direction of worst case scenario - is it dying that you are ultimately afraid of ?

Yes, because I don’t want it to drop to low and for me to like die etc

So what if you took that train of thought further and imagined if you died , what if instead of being scared of the thought of dying you just accepted it, I think if you had a near death experience you wouldn't be scared of dying again, I am not scared of dying but rather of living with a horrible illness , are you on medication ? I am not suggesting you should be btw just thinking of natural things that could calm you down like codliver oil capsules Evening primrose oil capsules

I have like 2 meals a day n sugar

in reply to anxietymadman123

It would really be a good idea to come off sugar and all sodas sugary drinks.with fructose. These will cause you insulin spikes which becomes a rollercoaster to blood sugars, which can cause mood swings.

Magnesium rich foods will certainly calm you down.It has been stripped out of processed food, farming practices only put nitrogen and phosphates back in the ground so food of today is nothing like it was 100 years ago.Try to research this and then think about supplementing your diet with Vit B complex,Vitamin C ,Vit D, Vit E. if you still continue to eat processed stuff. The odd sweet or chocolate is not going to cause issues but regular intake of sugar is bad for the mind and body.

Magnesium Threonate is very good at calming the mind down, and quite safe to use with or without prescribed medications.

Here are a few known things about the heart. It responds to anxiety like fuel to an accelerator pedal. It also responds to your vagus nerve. And is entirely involuntary to your conscious input of thought.

It wont stop even if its beating slowly.Experiments in heart tissue show that if you were to take a thin slice of it and put it in a dish, it would keep twitching for three days without a blood supply.

You have to develop a new way of looking at this.Reassure yourself that you are young and there is really nothing wrong apart from the fact that you are overly body listening. In your case The sympathetic nervous system is having a battle with the parasympathetic nervous system, in other words, you fright and flight is in a tug of war with your rest and digest.

Learn to relax...and realise that your body can fix most things without involving your input.

Finally i know what your are going through, i went through the same after a viral illness 40 years ago.My heart rate often went below 45 and then whilst at rest jump up to 180... and yes..i thought my time was up....I am still here at the age of 66....and yes if i start listening too much to twinge or niggle...i can make a mountain that would dwarf everest.

My cure was to learn how to let go of my thoughts and feelings, float past the sensations, and never esculate fear with more fear. The antidote to fear is to believe you are not in danger....make friends with your body...nourish it....excercise it....rest it...be happy.

Hi! Do you wear smart watch like fitbit? It can track your heart rate and resting heart rate, also when you sleep. I think it's also useful. I use it for few months now and sometimes my heart rate can go as low as 48-50 when I sleep. I don't exercise, I even don't walk a lot during this pandemic, I have sinus arrhytmia (after I did health screening), and seen cardiologist couple of times. He doesn't worry at all cause the tests show normal heart. The only test I haven't done yet is echo stress test, which I'm still not sure of cause I get so easily tired. How's your lifestyle and diet? I read other's recommendation about supplements. I think it's a good start to take extra vitamins. I'll also see my doctor to have me checked on my levels. So far they gave me suppements D3 and B6-9-12. Hope you feel okay and less worry about health. I'm still dealing with this health anxiety thing, sometimes I feel worse but I know this too shall pass.
