My resting heart rate is usually around forty. I am asymptomatic and certainly not a world class athlete. My cardiologist sees no reason to treat my bradycardia as long as it remains asymptomatic.

I know this post is from years ago but I was curious what else your cardio said about your bradycardia? My resting is never above 56 and drops into the 40s at night..scares me because I am not and athlete. Thanks!! :)

Usually if you have a resting heart rate that is particularly low it's a good indication that you are fit, so in the greater scheme of things I don't think its something you need to worry about. What really helps me is actually doing some meditation. Have you heard of "mindfulness"? Its a good way to take your mind off the anxiety and focus on your breathing. Hope this helps and hope you are feeling better :xxx

You sound exactly like me! I am no athlete myself. I'm pretty average. I went to a cardiologist myself and mine actually got down to 44 in my sleep. I was told not to worry about it. I also have pvcs-extra beats. I was told not to worry about that either. The cardiologist told me to exercise and it would help me not be so stressed out. I'm not over weight and eat pretty healthy. I get heart palpitations when I take certain meds like sine antibiotics and acid reflux meds. He told me I'm just sensitive to meds. So after seeing him, I've still worried and seen my dr many times. I think I will take his advice advice and start exercising to try to destress. Dint worry about your heart rate. I'm sure it's fine like mine. :) I understand how you feel though.

Sometimes my pulse drops as low as the high 40`s when I haven`t eaten for a while. It`s just a slowing down of metabolism.

no buddy I'd kill to have a heart rate like that.

when iam restring my hart beats 153/102 that puts me in high risk of hart attacks and strokes.

I bike and do lots of fitness stuff. A low heart rate is a positive. My resting HR is also in the high '40's.
