SVT is kicking my butt today anxiety wise

I have a heart arrythmia called SVT, it's really doing a number on me today. Anxiety has been alot high lately. Just want a break from it all, feel like I'm going to lose my mind at times. I don't know when to go to the hospital or when not to. It's aggravating. Just venting.

Going to go and try guided meditation before work starts.

I'm on Atenolol and for SVT, you don't always have to rush into the ER. Matter of fact, I have had doctors get annoyed that I even came in over it.

Armyguy, has the cardiologist talked to you about re-addressing the medication,

dosage as well as time of day you take the prescription?

As long as you can feel the heart arrhythmia, the more agitated you will feel.

I have A-Fib which can be a horrible feeling as well. Since I've been on medication,

the dosage has not needed to be changed but the time of day I take it has.

There were a couple times that I needed to take an extra dose by order from the doctor.

I found that my meditation and breathing practices several times a day, keeps

me in a good position of a relaxed and calm mind. And with that, the body responds.

I hope you did okay while at work. :) xx

I am on a long term beta blocker called Acebutolol, it has been super helpful keeping my SVT at bay. I have learned my triggers and the likely method of converting back. I have not have gone to the ER since I've been on acebutolol, but I was over 200 bpm the time I did go.

I am also an extremely anxious person who is being treated for that as well. They definitely feed into each other, it is horrible.

Best of luck to you!

I have SVT also. It is indeed hard to know if you’re having a serious issue or just random heart palpitations or fast heart rate. Mine is worse at night and so much more noticeable. I always tell myself that if there is pain plus dizziness plus massive sweating, I’ll go to the ER. Problem is that SVT makes my anxiety sky high so sometimes I have those symptoms but they’re anxiety. Have you considered having the ablation? I’m way too chicken.
