So I’ve recently started doing couch to 5k, am overweight and haven’t exercised in a long while so expecting the occasional ache and pain however I’ve had strain feeling in right calf for the last week. At first thought maybe I’m just putting more pressure on that leg when jogging however my anxiety is making me think it’s deep vein thrombosis, I’m classed as obese and I’m also on the contraceptive pill so chances are high and my doctor did warn me of this when I went on the pill 6 weeks ago (surprised they gave it me really!)
Has anyone experience dvt and can shed some light on if it doesn’t like it? It is it just my health anxiety playing up

You should call your MD. Ask the questions you are asking here.
Running when overweight especially if you are classified as obese will put extra strain and pressure on your joints, muscle and soft tissue. Getting fitted for proper running and walking shoes is important to helping you avoid injury.
You have questions and concerns in which you should be discussing with your doctor. Also he should give you guidance and how to add exercise being overweight, safety as to not injure yourself is important.
Hi
Your HA will go into overdrive and start telling you the worst scenarios of what this might be and in most cases it is something really simple and nothing at all your anxiety wants you to believe
I would speak with the Doctor again and they can tell you to give you peace of mind ,maybe think about another form of contraception till you have got to a better place with your weight something else you could mention while you express your concerns
Well done though realising you need to lose some weight and doing something about it , you should feel proud of yourself x
