hello, so today is my second day on only lexapro. It was also an increase from 10 to 20 mg. Here I am after dropping my son off at work, back home alone and trying to fend off panic. I had a CBT session earlier and felt good thinking i was feeling better. I am weird in my head right now, what i mean by weird is spacey almost out of control sense. (I do fear loss of control). I spoke with her about coping with panic and she reminds me "you do have control, ect, the importance of breathing ect" and I understand those thing. So why when this is happening all of that leaning seems to be out the window? My question is, when starting lexapro did you experience any kind of spacey-ness in your head and or dream like sense? It is scaring me....

2nd Day On Lexapro
hlacovara, I would think that doubling the dose has cause these feelings. It might have been better for the therapist to raise it slowly by 5 mg. I am on Lexapro and have found it to be
a good med for me. However, I did notice that even when it was increased by 5mg, there was
a slight, slight breakthrough of anxiety. Within days, the brain accepted the increase and all was well. Talk with your prescribing doctor/therapist and see what they say. Never decrease dosage on your own. I wish you well Keep us updated xx
Thank you so much for writing . I've thought of this too . I am planning on asking him about going by 5mg instead to try to avoid this. It seems that I will be "ok" one minute and then out of nowhere I feel very disconnected from my own mind and body, then I panic.
You will be ok. Try to stay on what the doctor decided unless it’s really really unbearable. This is the “pain” of onbording the medication. It’s not easy but give it few more days and you will see the difference and how the brain adjusts to the med. And what you’re going thru right now and what you’re experiencing is very typical for lexapro but in the end it will help you tremendously.
