I’ve been having the feeling like I need to take a deep breath and also sometimes like it’s hard to take a deep breath. My Dr thinks it’s anxiety. It started every day about 2.5 weeks ago. I feel as though I have had the feeling occasionally before but not like this. I have been on Pristiq for almost 2 weeks now. I had been on it before but kicked it early this year. I feel less anxious but I can’t shake the breathing thing. I could go do some physical tests but the Covid thing gives me terrible anxiety too. How do I test it’s anxiety? Any ideas on how to get it to stop?

I’m getting this at the minute it’s like my rib cage and chest is so sore with trying to take in a deep breath I’m also getting sharp like electric shock pains in my shoulder blades it’s so strange but I also know our anxiety can cause so many bizarre symptoms it’s hard to believe it’s anxiety I asked my dr today and he said my chest clear but feel like my lungs ain’t working told me if I’m still like it in 2 weeks to go back I hope this subside for you it’s really scary when we get the feeling we can’t breathe
Take care hun

hi . i get this often and i am pretty sure its anxiety ,the moore you try to breath in the more it seems that i cant ,its a viscous circle ,i call it my little bridge that i have to try to get over ,once i do i am ok and relax again ...i also check my lungs by doing this little test ,buy a breathing blow in tube ,its what the docs use for people with asthma ..you can get one on amazon ,blow as hard as you can into this ,if you are an adult your reading should be around 450 ,if you are a child then mayb more ,..this is a good way to check your own lung function ...i am adult female and my reading is always around 450/500 which is normal ..hope this helps .
As a follow-up, did your breathing issues ever resolve? Why did you quit taking Pristiq previously?
