Fit test over 200ug

I have severe health anxiety! I have also been seeing blood in my stool for about a year now. I have very visible hemorrhoids internal and one that protrudes slightly. I have done 3 fit test one was 200ug another negative no blood and one more recently that was more than 200ug. I also did a calproctein test that was negative. I’m currently pregnant so they can’t do a camera test. I can not begin to explain how scared I am, I keep crying and I don’t feel like getting out of bed. It’s o scared it’s something serious.

I can totally understand your fear

I think though when they know you have haemorrhoids doing a fit test the chances are blood would show from them alone and not give a true reading , I have a similar problem where the Doctor has said I could do one but I have the same issue regarding hemorrhoids and think well I know there is every good chance the would detect some blood so then I would be freaking out and I have just had a heart attack so they would not be able to do the camera procedure on me at this time either

So at the moment I have put it on hold as I would just be left in a worse state of anxiety

I have HA to and with just having a heart attack , then this to play on my mind I know that feeling of just wanting to stay in bed and feel like crying all day

I am going to try and I say try as it gets harder talk with my Doctor about how I am feeling , maybe you could to or as you are pregnant your midwife could help as well , contact them both , try and do whatever you can so you do not have to suffer with this intense fear but know you are not alone

Thank you for replying back, I feel not knowing and not being to able to get anything done is driving me insane. I’m so tired of living in fear. I think what gets to me the most is there was no blood where I dipped the stick in, yes there was blood on other parts of the stool but not the part I dipped the stick in, so the blood rating is scaring the life out of me. I’m sorry to hear you had a heart attack, I hope you are resting loads and feeling much better. Do you have blood in stool too?

This is such a tricky one when you have hemorrhoids because as we are passing the stool blood can get into it

I have blood on the outside but without having the test not sure but as they say because of my heart attack I could not have the camera procedure done I cannot see the point in doing the stool test other than to make me even worse than I am with worry which won't help me heart

Usually though these tests that detect blood it turns out to be nothing , I know that is easy to say but harder to stop the mind getting carried away

I would give that Doctor and midwife a call and let them know how much this is affecting you , that is what they are there for and could help give you peace of mind which you need x

I wish I never did the test now! I only did it for some peace of mind but it actually has made things worse for me, now I’m more afraid than I ever was. I have called my doctors up and and told them if I can speak to the doctor that saw me last week. She unfortunately come back to work on Monday, so it’s a long wait. I am praying it’s just blood from hemorrhoids. I’m getting heart palpitations cause of this and every time they check my heart rate it’s super high as I’m always so damn nervous and scared.

That is the reason I am giving it a miss at the moment but you did it and honestly most times it is nothing

If your Doctor is not there midwives can be very supportive and reassuring x

The Midwife’s haven’t really been great support for my pregnancy I doubt they would be great support for this. I think the level of blood is just freaking me out more thank anything. Thank you for replying back to me.

Have you suffered with piles long and do they bleed heavy ?

Did you have other symptoms why your Doctor suggested the test ?

I think it is so frustrating and personally cannot see the point in sending you for the test if it were to come back high and then say we cannot do anything and I would be expressing this when you do speak to your Doctor and pointing out what state it has left you in

I had this conversation with my Doctor when she suggested it

She had to admit if it came back fine then one less thing to worry about but I did say and if not you are saying you would not be able to investigate any further because of my heart so where would that leave me ! in a state !

Mine have always bled but I keep getting little lumps that come and go in my lower intestines , they say they think I have diverticulitis but what with my heart attack and the worry of this I do know how you are feeling but try and keep hold of the thought so many times even with a positive result it can be so simple as a polyp

Make a list of everything you want to ask and say before you speak to them and let me know how you get on x

Hi I have had piles since last year, last year I was straining so much that I cause one to prolapse. My hemorrhoids don’t bleed heavy but they bleed more or less everyday a little bit. I had finger up my bum last week and the doctor said she could feel internal hemorrhoids, so I’m waiting to talk to this particular doctor on Monday, I’ll let you know how it goes. I understand what you’re saying good you didn’t have the test done I so wish I never got it done now, it is causing me so much unnecessary anxiety. I wouldn’t even mind having diverticulitis but I know that happens when you’re older so can’t hope on that. X

I am not a Doctor but I bet the blood is either the hemorrhoids or a polyp , these both are the most common reason for a positive fit test

When we have anxiety we jump to the worse scenario when usually it is something really simple x
