Constant feeling of swaying and off balance.

Hi everyone. I haven’t been feeling well for a few months. I have had chronic swaying every time I stand. Sometimes it feel like I am moving forward and back other times side to side. I have been to the ENT at least 4 times, have seen 2 neurologist. I did a stand up brain MRI and supposedly all is clear. It is taking over my daily life. Everyone is saying it’s anxiety. How can anxiety cause swaying all day everyday for months?? I am a 46 year old female and am going through early menopause (sorry if that’s to much information lol). I can physically see myself swaying. Has anyone ever felt like this??? Thanks

Hi! I haven’t experienced that particular symptom YET lol but always remember stress and anxiety can cause the weirdest symptoms. Trust the doctors! Especially that you had a second opinion! 🤎 I wish you strength! It will pass.

My anxiety has created a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders over the years. As well as poor posture at the computer and while looking at my cell phone. These muscles have become tight and affected my balance. Try looking into stretching your neck and shoulder muscles. They have a lot to do with balance and coordination.

I have this!!! Guess what it’s ended up being??. My blood pressure is low!! I’m now after a few years of suffering this being referred to a specialist hospital in London for autonomic disorders. My blood pressure keeps dropping when I stand and upright. I also get ear infections which doesn’t help.

Either way buy yourself a blood pressure monitor and see what your BP is lying down and then standing. If you BP drops when you stand then you may have what I have - orthostatic hypotension. My heart rate also rises so I may have POTS. Something this hospital will help me determine. I’m looking forward to a formal diagnosis but my doctors have said my BP changes on standing are not good 😖.

I was shouted at 3 years ago by ENT nurse who said it was all anxiety! Wish I could go back now and shout at her!!

P.s we are nearly the same age!
