Sudden drop in my stomach that takes my breath away

Has anyone had the sensation that of a sudden unexpected roller coaster drop in their stomach that takes their breath away for a few seconds? This feeling scares the crap out of me. I swear it’s going to kill me. I’ve seen cardiologist in the past and have worn a halter monitor for 30 days. I recorded the episodes and the cardiologist says he dosent see anything unusual. I’m not sure if he really looked at my recordings.

Hi, when I read your post it reminded me of one of the symptoms I used to experience on a registered basis, I used to describe it as suddenly going down in a fast lift or driving over a steep hill fast or a rollercoaster feeling, my stomach would suddenly drop, like a rush or a role, difficult to describe. All I can tell you is that during my years of HA I have heard so many describe the very same sensation as a symptom of their anxiety, it's terrifying when it happens and my heart would race with fear, but it is a common physical symptom of anxiety, it's to do with the sudden release of adrenaline and your over sensitized body, I don't know if your currently receiving medical help? you could mention it to your doctor if your particularly scared it might be something, and I only suggest that because it might help put your mind at ease a little, in the meantime you may find comfort in knowing I had this experience many many times over a period of years and I'm still here, nothing will happen to you, it's unpleasant and scary but not dangerous, this is just from my experience of having the exact same symptom, I gradually learned to try and let it pass without panicking, this wasn't easy and took lots of practice, eventually that symptom disappeared, I'm not 100% recovered but I'm certainly in a much better place than back then. Try uour best to just breathe and relax, use your inner voice to tell yourself that your ok whenever you get this sensation and remember, many have and still are experiencing the same and similar. You'll be ok xx

Really!??? Would it take your breath away too? I feel like it takes my breath away for a second or two. I thought it was my heart.

Your response actually brought me hope. I really appreciate you sharing that with me. I haven’t read of anyone else with that symptom. I have an appointment with my cardiologist next week just to rule anything out. Thanks again ☺️
