Weird eye catch up when turning head to sides .

Hi , New here ,but not new to health anxiety . I came across a post on here today that was posted around 5 years ago under the topic of vision. OMG since 2015 i have been searching health forums trying to find anyone who has the same symptoms as myself and today i found a few but the post is so old I don't think the people who posted comments are even still on here so this is going to be a long shot but I hope i get lucky in finding someone who can throw me some light on this weirdness i have . first started back in 2015 when i awoke one morning with what i thought was a strange dizziness , but since doing my own research into this i have recently found out that this could well be my eyes . This mainly happens in the evening while i am watching tv or i can wake with it first thing in the morning . I have a off balance feeling while walking and when i turn my head to the side its like my brain or eyes take a sec to catch up ,this can last only minuets or a few hours ,its like a drunk feeling . I usually have around 2 episodes a month or more ..I have been to the doctor who thinks it is BPPV but i am no way convinced because the room does NOT spin like a vertigo attack . I have recently had my eyes tested and all was good apart from me being short sighted and i am awaiting glasses . i was given a clean bill of health at the back of my eyes by the optician , Is their anyone having similar symptoms ? I would love to here from you .

Thank you for reading

Ear conditions are very hard to diagnose and like you, I have been dealing with dizziness and feeling off balance so much that I stagger. I started complaining in my late teens! I have been told it's low blood pressure. I've been told I have syncopy. I'm tired of being told what it might be and never getting a clear understanding. There are a couple of possibilities that you may want to research. Have you looked into Meniere's disease of the inner ear? That is one that's extremely hard to diagnose. I was told that as well but they couldn't be sure. Also as weird as this may sound, having low blood pressure and low sodium can make you feel that way as well. Our ears are not only effected but our vision too. Have you been to an eye specialist recently? You may want to have your eyes checked for macular degeneration too. But just from what you've shared, I'm seriously thinking Menieres disease fits all of your symptoms. Please let me know what you find out? I hope this helps. If you need help researching further, I can do that too.

Hiya, Yes I have similar problems , mostly when I look to the left without moving my head much. The result is seeing double, which is really two objects merging. However, there are times when I really thought I was looking at 2 objects but if I turn my head or body so that I am directly in line with the object, I see it clearly as one. Optician tells me the muscle in my left eye moves slower than the right. When it comes to my dizziness, my GP tells me it's high blood pressure. Staggering when I walk (look like I'm drunk sometimes) is really annoying but the specialist tells me it's not parkinsons , but I'm not satisfied with the silly explanation he gave me. At 73 now I have tons of things going on including tini but as long as I'm out and about walking and driving etc then I try to keep my head up, enjoy my life and stop worrying. I'm thinking about living to 100 but I haven't made my mind up yet. Good luck everyone.

Hi lynstone60. I’m feeling exact way you were. Do you still feel this way? Please update me on your progress or whatever doctors told you as I’m really trying to find out what could be causing this same issue for me. I’m constantly feeling this way that I can’t even work anymore. It’s like after I have been working for 5 hours my body’ needs time to catch up. I have to lay down. I’m off balance all the time.

I feel off balance all the time. It’s so weird. No dizziness just off balance. What is your outcome? Or are you still experiencing this? I’m currently on 25mg of sertraline. It’s been exactly a month today since I’ve been on them. Doctor has upped it to 50mg but I’m so scared of going through the side effects again.
